Some people create their own “toxic atmosphere” by being lazy, uncooperative, demanding, confrontational, or antagonistic. In cruder terms, they are aholes and normal people react badly to such individuals and will often resort to using offensive language based on the most obvious physical characteristics.
If there is any truth to what this person claims, and I seriously doubt that there is, it may well be that he brought the abuse on himself by his own bad behavior.

Spend any amount of time in a majority black neighborhood, and you’ll hear that word all the time. Heck, I’ve been called the n word, and I’m about as black as Elizabeth Warren is Native American.
It’s used in place of “guy” “dude” “adult male”, and carries the same (non existent) offense.
IF this ever happened at all (which I doubt) it was in that context, and by another black male, in private with no malicious intent, and none taken at the time.

In at least 20 years and likely much longer, I haven't heard a single white person utter the "n" word. (Quentin Tarantino movies excepted.)
However, I hear black people using it all the time, especially in the stupid rap songs they sing.
As for swastikas and KKK, give me a break. There's something like three people in the KKK these days and nobody writes swastikas anymore, except when somebody wants to plant evidence in order to fake a hate crime.
