Tributes have been paid to a ‘bright and rising’ plus-size drag queen who collapsed and died mid-performance at a Philadelphia bar aged just 25.
Valencia Prime had been in the middle of her ‘Prime Time’ show at the Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar on September 12 when she crumpled on-stage.
Prime, who called herself ‘Philadelphia’s Plus Size Dancing Diva’, died as a result of heart disease, obesity and diabetes according to the medical examiner – with her cause of death being ruled as natural causes.
Paramedics and emergency services were called to the gay bar as the transgender drag queen was hosting her show, with a friend saying she was ‘unresponsive’.
She was rushed to Jefferson Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Friends and family called her a “rising star”.
You have to be some kind of delusional to think that a fat dude in a leotard wearing high heels dancing and lip-syncing on stage is a “rising star”.
When you feed the delusion, you are responsible for the consequences. I wonder if any of them feel the slightest bit guilty. I doubt it.
I can’t celebrate the life of someone who lived and made their living in such a perverse manner, but neither do I wish death upon them or gloat over their sudden death. As a Christian I pray for the repose of his soul, though because he was taken in the very act of promoting perversion, it does not look good for him. Most of all it is a reminder that every moment we should all strive to be in friendship with God because none of us know the day or the hour.
I think he should be pitied instead.
Afflicted with a terrible mental condition, encouraged by the media and society to indulge in it, he died in the expression of his delusion.
Her weight appears to be about average for 25 year-olds these days.
