Its weird they want to legalize weed but no one ever mentions cocaine. At least cokeheads made better music than potheads.

““Unlike marijuana, alcohol is also not a gateway drug. One of the greatest harms of marijuana legalization is increased addiction to and use of harder drugs. Prosecutors, judges, police officers and others involved in the criminal justice system know that the vast majority of defendants arrested for violent crimes test positive for illegal drugs, including marijuana.”

Utter bullshit, a complete lie.

ALCOHOL IS THE GATEWAY DRUG. AND MOST VIOLENT CRIMES, BY FAR, ARE COMMITTED BY THOSE WHO ARE DRINKING ALCOHOL.

AND IT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE.

The increase in the rate of mental illness didn’t happen spontaneously or for no reason. It’s now caused most often by physical substances that directly affect the brain.

Most drug addicts drink more alcohol to suppress their paranoia. Most alcoholics are now drug addicts.

There’s no control. I’m 59 years old. I tried it probably two maybe three times last year. It does nothing but create short term memory loss. And you kind of ramble on like you had one too many drinks. I did it before I watched a movie one time and found it hard to keep up with the scenes in the movie. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. Like I said it’s nothing more than a party trick or a parlor game. I’m like I waited 59 years and went through all these security clearances for this? I got to be honest with you it was really disappointing. Lol

There’s a good documentary on Netflix about the history of all this. Essentially there was this one zealot in the 40s in the 50s that was worried about white women becoming involved with black guys particularly musicians. There were two major studies that proved that it should never of been criminalized. One of the studies that proved that it shouldn’t have never been criminalize was the Laguardia study.

I don’t remember the names of the government jerk that criminalized it. I would have to watch the documentary again

“36 cases a day of marijuana psychosis on average at San Diego emergency room.”

Citation?

Even IF it were true, and I seriously doubt it, it’s called “being too high on edibles”.

You mean like wine, beer, bourbon, nicotine e cigarettes, monster energy drinks, etc.?

Funny how when I had a high-level security clearance, the highest you can get, and walk out the front door of the building and all the nicotine junkies were standing out front taking hits off their e-cigarette sticks. They couldn’t function at work without getting high on nicotine for five times a day.

You mean substances like that right?

THC has been studied for decades and proven to have medical benefits. Yes, the medical benefits are different than having anyone smoke weed every day for no particular reason, but they are real.

There is no legitimate reason that it’s still classified as a schedule 1 drug. The reason that it stays on schedule 1 is for political purposes. Fentanyl is schedule 2 and it is killing thousands of Americans every year, many of them accidentally from a single exposure.

Really the entire drug schedule should be thrown out and a new system put into place to reflect reality.

Give it up man. You’ll never get through these idiots. It’s like trying to talk economic and social sense to a woke liberal.

And of course let’s not forget Nixon’s role in all this other nonsense.

He doubled and tripled down on the whole war against marijuana despite two major studies that proved everything his administration was saying was false.

I think probably everybody should smoke reefer one time in their life so they can understand how utterly stupid this whole thing is

“Get over it. Leave people alone as long as they aren’t harming others.”

Except they are harming others. They are not working and we are paying for it.

“Unlike marijuana, alcohol is also not a gateway drug."

LOL, that's funny right there. Anyone know anyone with a drug problem who did not start out with beer or wine?

Agree about not wishing to pay for people who won’t support themselves. But I will say it again, does the government have the right to imprison people for using and possessing plants? I just don’t see where in the constitution it gives the feds the right to make possession of these substances a crime. Leave it to the states whether to legalize it or not.

I'm not, nor do I ever see myself being pro weed as a recreational device, regardless of legal status in any sotuation. I also firmly believe that it can be addictive and ruin families just as much and as badly as alcohol can. Doesn't make me disagree with you at all, just wanted to state that you don't have to partake to understand that the existing system isn't right and can be better.
