Authorities were called to Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s Texas home late Tuesday over reports that a teen had self-inflicted stab wounds, police told ABC affiliate KTRK.
Cruz has two daughters, ages 11 and 14.
The outlet reported that Houston police responded to called that a 14-year-old had stab wounds on their arms in the River Oaks neighborhood. The teen’s identity was not disclosed.
The teen was rushed to the hospital.
“This is a family matter, and thankfully their daughter is OK,” a representative for Cruz told the Daily Beast. They added that there “were no serious injuries.”
“The family requests that the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.”

How exactly is a 14-year-old girl “bi”? Is she currently having sex with both men and women? If so, there’s a statutory rape issue here.
Sounds like Miss Cruz is a very confused, troubled young woman. It’s very sad. I hope that Ted and Heidi are able to get ahold of this situation.
We really should respect the family’s privacy. Fourteen year old, particularly girls, can undergo a lot of emotional upheavals. And today’s culture sure doesn’t help kids who can become very confused due to the conflicting (and frequently sick) messages they receive. Prayers up for the Cruz family and other families undergoing similar struggles.
I hope we can elevate our compassion and put a damper on tendencies to be judgmental.
I don't mean to point fingers but it's likely that Ted may have been too busy to pay attention to her daughter.
We saw this young lady’s attitude during her father’s 2016 presidential bid. There has obviously been issues in this family for years and now they are cropping up.
She was only 13 when she referred to herself that way.
At 13, she might not have fully understood what the term meant.
Now, creepy adults are using that term for her in the headline.

Sad, isn’t it. Fourth Turning stuff hopefully where this aberration we live in goes back to ‘normal’ after a rebirth or an LGBT/Commie/mud boot on our neck forever. Not sure which it is yet. It ain’t pretty, regardless.
Cruz and his wife need to take away that child’s phone, remove her from her current school environment, and get her into counseling with a true Christian counselor. It’s obvious that social media and her current crop of peers (and possibly school teachers) are driving her off the deep end. I suspect any teacher would be delighted to brag to his/her/it’s friends that they changed Cruz’s child from a sweet little girl into a member of the alphabet group who hates her own Dad.
Knowing she is Cruz’s daughter, I’ll be her lefitsst teachers went all out to indoctrinate & brainwash her. Maybe even suggested that attempting sucide would help “the Cause”.

Give her a flip phone instead so she can still call. No social media. Putting her in a new private school (or even public school) usually may work.
Absolutely, I think it’s fair to suspect that the Cruz kids might not have received the attention they’ve needed growing up. Ted lives and breathes politics 24/7. Consider also that Heidi Cruz has long been the real family breadwinner with her Goldman Sachs gig. So who’s minding the store with these kids? Talking to them? Listening to them? Steering them back on course when they screw up or start acting weird? Who? Nannies? Day care?

This is for sure. If anything, the messaging, thru social apps, amplifies the confusion.
