Local leaders and public figures attended the service for the former Cincinnati mayor who died earlier this week
Hundreds of people gathered at Memorial Hall in Cincinnati on Friday to commemorate the media icon, in a proceeding that began at noon and broadcasted live on TV as well as streamed on Springer's website.
Around 550 free tickets were made available the general public.
At the event, Springer remembered Springer as a natural performer, a family man, and someone who never lost sight of what was important, no matter how successful he became.
Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney kicked off the program with the 'Jerry' cheer and declared today 'Jerry Springer Day,' according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Luke 17:1
We know that this fallen world will honor and glorify people like this while celebrating the death of Pat Robertson and other godly men. Still, it is sad to see.
About a year ago I was sitting in the doctors office and they had that garbage of a show on. Sad pathetic people were putting their messed up lives on display for the amusement of soul less jerks. And up there was the devil leading the dancers toward the cliff.
The guy was pure unadulterated scum.
Coincidence? I think not.
I wonder what's going to happen to Jerry's academic publishing house?
Springer died last month.
Shucks.
βItβs Ukraine, itβs like going into Wisconsin.β
LOL! Good one! That was the my laugh for today!
The shirts were easy-tear Hollywood shirts. Sleeves and pockets loosely stitched on. So in case of a fight, they would easily tear off and the fight would look more violent than it was. But the guests weren't told the shirts were easy-tear.
I think they also used breakaway chairs and tables.
The whole point of the show was to encourage those sad, pathetic people to engage in fights, for the amusement of the audience.
And a deep contempt for the audience.
Jerry Springer was a lowlife that made a fortune publicizing, showcasing and celebrating deviants of all sorts. He knew full well he was assaulting and tearing the moral fabric of the country. He was not a good man.
“Springer did his part to drab the culture into the gutter.” 100% true. Springer, like Hugh Hefner, viewed women as toys, pregnant women as broken toys, and abortion as the way to fix toys. Nuff said.
I wonder if he tried using bad checks to try and get into where he went.
It appeared scripted and edited. A fake freak show. After the format was established, does anyone really believe someone would agree to appear on the show if invited.? The invited would know they were gonna’ be enraged and humiliated. Reminded me of the fake confrontations in WWE.
That’s there good. But no laughing matter at judgement day.
Cincinnati was a Fabulous Conservative city to grow up in UNTIL Jerry Springer got elected!!
ππ
Springer made his money off the misery and sin of other people! He was a scumbag of scumbags! He always had an arrogant smirk on his face as he watched and interviewed pathetic people.
He's not smirking anymore!
He is, then, a toasty critter now!
