Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to try and fight back against former President Donald Trump and beat allegations he wears lifts and high heels that masquerade as boots.
Trump and other opponents have put out conspiracy theories that the candidate uses lifts in his boots to look taller.
Speaking to Eric Bolling Thursday, DeSantis took on the claims again and tried to hit back at Trump for his lack of attendance at Republican Primary debates.
'This is no time for foot fetishes, we've got serious problems in the country,' DeSantis said, before explaining the myriad problems with the country under current President Joe Biden.
'I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have been focusing on things like footwear. I'll tell you this: if Donald Trump can summon the balls to show up to debate, I'll wear a boot on my head!'
Trump has yet to respond to the offer, having most recently posted about DeSantis on Truth Social earlier today, joking that Fox News has 'given up' on the Florida governor and moved on to 'Birdbrain' Nikki Haley.
The former president has refused to show up at the first two GOP debates and shows no signs of attending Friday's third debate, having previously cited his lead in the polls.
Trump is at 43 percent among likely primary voters in new Des Moines Register poll.
He has amassed a 27-point lead over his closest rivals with, DeSantis at 16 per cent, as is former South Carolina Gov. Haley – although she arrived there after a 10-point gain from August.

Trump doesn’t need money and is too arrogant to be afraid. That’s what I like about him. :). Florida still needs Desantis…I would 100% back him in a few years.
RDS wouldn’t be where he is if it wasn’t for Trump. He would have lost to a RAT homo coke head. That is why Trump jabs at DeSantis.
Trump didn’t even take a salary as POTUS. Ron is the guy who illegally moved the money from his State campaign fund to his POTUS race. He will be called out eventually for doing that.
I cannot believe that the man, De Santis, whom I admired so much, would evolve into the raving lunatic that said these things.
He, who I thought was brilliant, turns out to be a weak, whining, complainer that is far...FAR from admirable.
I was hoping for a future President De Santis and now I can only hope that he does not start damaging his ONE SUCCESS.

Some have been trying their darndest to vilify Ron DeSantis.
Apparently, a Category 5 Shoe-Gate is the worst they can think to say about him so far. If the worst that can be said about Ron D. is that he stands accused of “Standing While Short!”, that’s not really so bad at all.
