That was strange. Had there been an earlier ceremony somewhere? I didn’t see any Marines of any higher rank than one stripe and CERTAINLY not any that looked to be in good physical shape.

some celebrations of the Marine Corps B’day go into December...There’s a CPL.(Blood stripe on his trousers) among the Lance Cpls.
There was a Corporal with a 4 year service strip and a Korea Service Medal, and a Reserve Medal. He got some good licks in. Maybe prior service, in a reserve unit now.
Yeah sure clown. Marines come in two sizes... scrawny and mean, and big and mean. It’s rare they have that modern bearded weightlifter look.
And -guaranteed- they can all run and hump you into the ground.
And yeah, there was a Corporal (NCO) with them, and several lance coolies. A squad was out together.
