VANITY: Prayers needed for my wife!

I had never really intended to post anything by myself, but I am desparate for prayer support from fellow believers, so please forgive me if I get this posted in the wrong place or if it doesn't look so good.

About five years ago, my wife had a lump removed from her breast. It was not full-blown cancer, but at that time she went through some follow-up radiation treatment as a precaution. Her doctors have been monitoring her closely for all this time and we had been getting excellent reports. We were coming up on that "magical" five year mark of being cancer free. Lisa went in for her mamagram last Friday. On Monday, yesterday, her doctor called her and said he wanted to see her to discuss her mamagram.

Long story short, they found something that has them concerned. They call it a branching microcalcification. It could possibly just be some calcification around the scar from the previous surgury (that's the area where it is), but it could also be cancer again. If it's cancer, they are already talking about a full radical mastectomy or chemo (or maybe both).

Lisa will go in today for a needle biopsy. My prayer request is that the biopsy will turn out negative, that it will just be some calcification around the scar tissue. If it turns out to be more than that, then I would ask for prayers for healing.

I'm going to be away from a computer most of the day, so I will thank everyone in advance. Above all, we want God to be glorified in all of this. And maybe just a few prayers for myself. We've been married almost eighteen years and she is my life. I feel so helpless. The only thing I know I can do is pray.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts, kind words, but most of all, your prayers. I know that my spirit has been strengthened today as I went along. I was feeling pretty low this morning when I posted my request, but as the day went along it got better.

It is a comfort to know that others are agreeing in prayer and that you're not just "going it alone". I love that about this group of people. I wish I could reach through my computer and hug each and every one of you, but you'll have to settle for and electronic hug. !!HUG!!

I will post word when we get any results. Probably 48 hours or so. Again, thank you all.
