Dont laugh. Okay, laugh if you must. But the rumors are swirling fast and furiously that the dolorous Barbara Boxer was doing much more than simply mugging for the cameras during the past two weeks. Shes was earning votes.
To the rest of the world, Senator Boxer appeared to become unhinged when she stood as the solitary member of the United States Senate to oppose the certification of President George W. Bushs reelection. But in the hearts and minds of the radical wing of the Democrat Party and especially among the Congressional Black Caucus and its sphere of influence Boxer came off as a brave maverick willing to sacrifice her own reputation to do whats right.
Then, during the confirmation hearing of National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Boxer threw all decorum and fact out the window to essentially make a very public statement against the Bush Administration. Watching Boxers colleague John Kerry try to play catch up has been almost comical.
Everyone on the Hill is talking about it. I mean, Boxer has never been considered a top recruit for Mensa, but her behavior lately has been so bizarre, people are wondering if shes lost her mind or running for president, one Mid-Western Senators top staffer told me.
It bears noting that Boxer has run ads for both the election and Rice publicity stunts on lefty blogs asking for people to sign up and support her causes. The ads were paid for by Boxers political action committee. Collecting names and donations this close after an election is a clear indication Boxer is gearing up for some form of political advancement.
Youve got to understand, after the 2004 election, these people need a hero. Kerrys not it. Hillary could be it, but shes not going to do anything controversial in the next four years to jazz up the nuts. Who else have you got? Dean? Hes not running in 08 if he wins the [DNC] chairmanship, said one Democrat operative in Washington, who thinks a Boxer ascension would be worse for his party than even a Dean Chairmanship.
Boxer has a few things going for her. Shes a woman. Shes from California, a monster state with tons of delegates. She recently won reelection in stronger-than-expected fashion. Shes a proven fundraiser. And now she is building strong relationships with the radical wing of her party.
Of course, some folks think shes just a San Francisco lefty. Still others wonder if shes got the emotional aptitude to handle the top job, or even the rough-and-tumble campaign necessary to achieve victory. Her election certification crying spell forced even some Democrats to wonder if she was all there. That was f*#ked up, on Democrat Capitol Hill staffer said to me.
But still, Boxer would start on much firmer footing than, say, a certain obscure Vermont ex-governor who for a brief time was all the rage in the 2004 presidential race and today stands to inherit the Democrat Nation Committee.
Barbara Boxer, stupid? Yes. But like Homer Simpson, she might be stupid like a fox.
Barabara Boxer is a communist pyscho! Who in their right mind would vote for her as President?
If they chose Boxer for their candidate I say "bring it on"! ROFLMOL
I will try to suppress my laughter until AFTER she gets the nomination.
Ping
Barbara Boxer's hairdo is unfortunate and her thumbs look weird -- fat and short. Not to be picky, but in that committee hearing, she shot herself in the foot, big time.
You got to be kidding me.
right the first time.........she is just a SF lefty and I don't think she is that bright either...I mean Hillary is at least smart and coniving......Boxer is just and activist with little strategic thinking
Please make it so!
But she won't get very far. She's too far too the left, she can't think on her feet, she can't speak extemporaneously. She'll crash and burn very quickly. However, it will be entertaining.
That's what all whores do ... sacrifice their reputation.
I WILL BE ELECTED president before Ms. Boxer reaches the White House.
She is a witch. Wait a minute. That's unfair to witches.
oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please
If only this were true! The Dem Party would be crushed for 40 years...!
You're thinking logically. The thing is that the far left is now about to take over LEADERSHIP positions within the party (witness Howard Dean almost being a lock for the DNC Chair). These loons are no longer just a "fringe" part of the Democratic party who could be winked at and ignored. They're not standing for that anymore. They're trying to take over, and really influence the party's choice of President. That's the reason why there's talk of moving the first primaries away from New Hampshire and let bigger states do it at once - it gives the loons more power and ability to organize.
If Boxer decides to try for the top spot, we could probably get some really good (and funny) photo-ops.
That's the one disappointment with Kerry. He will never get close enough to be considered a serious candidate any more, so we probably won't get many more good (and funny) photo-ops from him. I guess we'll just have to settle for the 1 CD-R filled with Doofus this go-round.
lol.
Earning votes from the dumbocrat base is like moving ahead in the Titanic's bathroom waiting line
I agree. They couldn't come up with a better candidate.
Uh, if you do what's right you don't need to worry about your reputation. It's only if you're being a freaky-freak that you need to worry.
That said, I welcome the future loser from the Bay Area to the Presidential Race. Let her and Hillary decide who the better man is.
