Forget Ward Churchill - - WARD BOND (the "Wagonmaster" and Wagon Train), now THERE was an American

Ward Bond is one of my favorites from the heydey of TV westerns, and from old John Ford/John Wayne Western movies. No doubt Ward Churchill - who apparently hates the taming of the West and the expansion of civilization that the cowboys and the Army brought with them -- did and does hate Ward Bond and all that he stood for on film (and in life.)

This web site honors Ward Bond as the courageous, cantankerous wagon master on "Wagon Train." http://www.fiftiesweb.com/wt/ward-bond.htm

Ward Bond, now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. A face and voice I miss on wholesome family TV.

He was the only one on the show who could give the Wagon Master Lip and get away with it.

I loved that show and Charlie was always a great part of what I loved about it. I had forgotten how much I missed Charlie till ten minutes ago.

Frank McGrath as Charlie Wooster was on the show for the whole run of eight seasons - - - maybe the only star of the show who there from beginning to end?

Can anyone tell that Ward Bond is one of my favorite actors?

The priest in The Quiet Man was one of my sentimental favorites.

Thanks for getting me here, sinkspur.
