An article on www.nature.com tells us that the Earth's air is cleaner, but this may contribute to the greenhouse effect. This seems to go against everything we have been told for decades. According to the article reductions in industrial emissions in many countries, along with the use of particulate filters for car exhausts and smoke stacks, seem to have reduced the amount of dirt in the atmosphere and made the sky more transparent. Ok, this is good right? Not according to nature.com.

Allow to present this in standard form:
Polluted air is a bad thing.
Cleaner air is a bad thing.
Air is either polluted or clean.
Therefore air is a bad thing.
If scientists were taught logic, they would realize that they have to pick one.
Sounds right to me.
No matter what happens, capitalism will cause global warming.
If it gets cooler, it's the fault of capitalism.
If it gets warmer, it's the fault of capitalism.
If nothing happens, it's still the fault of capitalism.
And George W. Bush.
well said.
Really, you've got to take it one step further to fully comprehend the logic:
PEOPLE are a bad thing.
Anything done by PEOPLE is automatically a bad thing.
You nailed it. Makes me remember the passage in Atlas Shrugged when the liberals realized that their beliefs stemmed from their own self-hatred, saw that to continue to act on them would result in their own deaths, and continued to do so anyway. What a revelation. Ayn Rand was a brilliant writer and thinker.
I don't think today's liberals are as self-aware as those fictional ones. They just believe (in defiance of all logic) that they will be immune from the consequences of their actions, because they're good people and mean so well. "Only the bad people will die. It won't hurt MEEEEEE!"
Wow, ver philosophical.
