Bush, "Tone Down Rhetoric"
Golden Carp Awards ^ | July 7, 2005 | Stan Janiak

One glaring failure of the Bush administration is its inability to affect public opinion; the Democrats, with their allies the MSM, always gets page 1; the GOP gets page 13B.

According to Kirtpatrick and Hulse in the New York Times, Bush is calling for conservatives to tone down their rhetoric about his possible Supreme Court nominees, particularly Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales. Evidently the administration determined in a poll that people say they want the Senate to conduct a dignified and fair confirmation process.

Kind of like the way Gonzales would like to tone down that pesky Constitution, and quiet those annoying people who think a border should mean something.

I agree. And I believe that Bush and Co. gotta know that the problem is going to be with the DevilcRATs, Moveon.orgs, and RINOs, not the majority of the GOP.

Just another attempt by the Times to set the tone that the conservatives are going to be the problem during this whole process. A prebuttle.

I don't put much stock in the NY Times. Haven't we learned the paper of record is not even worthy to be birdcage liner...

I thought many of us were disturbed that our Republican politicians were too soft, had no backbone, didn't stand up to the Dems' loud shrills and accusations, that they were a bunch of patsies.

What's it going to be? Are we going to cower to Ted Kennedy's fecal matter filled guns, or are we going to shoot back?
