I guess we'll just have to start sending them the usual examples of editorializing disguised as news. Something other than "what", "when", "where" and "how".

They get away with it because people are stupid.

Well. I guess the focus group results came back in favor of no spin, no agenda, just straight up news, as it happens.
So, Reuters paid sombody the big bucks to come up with this snazzy new tag line.
I'll believe it when I see it, but I honestly don't think they're capable of seeing just how many ways their "news" is manipulated. It begins with their choice of just what is deemed newsworthy, and goes downhill from there. What's the allegory about a frog in a pot of water, slowly brought to a boil? It doesn't even notice, and neither does the MSM.
To: mhking
Sounds like a ripoff of O'Reilly and Fox's motto's.
Is Reuter's becoming sensitive to their loss of credibility?
AP makes up stories about events. Reuters is a full fledged voice for foreigners (this includes terrorists).

Saying it don't make it so.
It would be funny if it wasn't so sick.

The false meme that the media's role is to objectively report was planted by the media. It puts the institution in a superior postion (i.e., "elite" as are government officials, as opposed to "the ignorant masses") that would not exist but for their creation of it.
But there never was such a thing as an objective media. The media has always manufactured news to suit its objectives. We'd be better off with openly partisan media, where the public has to make up its mind based on widely diverging presentations.

Well, sure.
Republicans are rich people who want to steal bread from children, and Democrats are saintly defenders of the poor. It's impossible to be a terrorist unless you're a Jew. America is at the root of every problem facing the world, and anyone who opposes us is the good guy. Global warming is going to kill us all, and Bush is Hitler.
These are irrefutable facts, and we report them. So what's your problem...?
