Conservatives calling liberals "Communists" is about as effective as liberals calling conservatives "Nazis" or "Fascists." Regardless of how apt you think the comparison is, people look at the comparison rather than at your argument, and it generally distances you from your audience. While the author may be completely right, she chooses to name-call rather than relating events in a simple, straightforward, persuasive style. I've read the article twice now, and I'm still not sure I know what happened.

Care to give us your source(s) for that? I have been in the newspaper business for over twenty eyars, online and in print. I have been a reporter, editor and now pulisher and I believe I can say with no problems that yur statement is feely good political bull!
