I just assume every celeb is a leftie. Always surprises me when they aren't. It's much more pleasant than always thinking everyone MUST agree with me (the DUmmie mantra).
The celebs that everyone respects are generally life long (but not always) Republicans (generally conservatives at heart at the least).
Jimmy Stewart, Charlton Heston, Ted Williams, Lionel Hampton, Robert Mitchum, Bob Hope. Ronald Reagan switched parties but was railing against incremental socialism before he ever ran for office. (yes I know that there are parts of Robert's Mitchum's life where he was not respected in Hollywood because of drinking and drugging, but he still got work).
