Notice here I said, IRAN, not IRAQ. Of course, we know all about Iraq since we are entering our 4th year of war with that country against its evil dictator, Saddam Hussein. America has lost over 2000 precious men and women from our armed forces in that span of time!
So, whats happening in Iran? For starters, the president of that country who is also a dictator was put into power by the radical, Islamic Mullahs. His name is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and he has made bold statements in the past months which have little to do with reality. For example, this evil man denies that the holocaust (over 6 million Jews, 2 million of them children, murdered during World War II by the Germans) ever happened. He has also boldly declared on several occasions that the tiny nation of Israel should be wiped off the face of the map!
These statements would be just ridiculous rhetoric if it werent for the fact that Iran is also busy about the work of developing nuclear weapons. Of course, they deny this allegation claiming instead that they are only developing nuclear power for their own countrys use. This is ridiculous in light of the fact that Iran is one of the worlds leading exporters of oil and could easily provide all the power they would ever need for their country with that resource without effecting the flow of oil they are selling around the world.
Irans president has recently been compared to Adolph Hitler mainly because during World War II the world did nothing to stop Hitler even when they knew what he was doing to the Jews. Here, again, we are faced with a dangerous man who believes the planet would be better off if all the Jews were annihilated! Folks, this is serious business!
Actually, we saw a similar situation back in 1981 when Iraq was doing the same thing with hopes of developing the atomic bomb. In that case, Israel could no longer take the chance that it might happen so they sent planes to the Osirak reactor, 18 miles south of Baghdad and bombed the nuclear power plant into oblivion. There was little outcry from the rest of the Arab nations over this act because they well understood that an Iraq with atomic weapons could be a threat to them as well.
Israel has already spoken publically on more than one occasion that they will not allow Iran to have these weapons either. And, recently, during his State of the Union address, President Bush spoke boldly to the world that America also has no intention of letting it happen. It will be very interesting to see which nation strikes Iran first.
Why is all of this so important? Listen, we are living in very interesting times. In the very immediate future (possibly this year), we may very well see the planes of war flying over the nation of Iran carrying bombs that will rain from the sky all over that country to destroy their nuclear capabilities. Who knows what the reaction will be from the Arab world when that event takes place .and, it will take place! Will the rest of the Arab, Islamic nations rise up to strike against their enemy, Israel? Will America be drawn into the fight? Will we have World War III? President Bush has already declared that he will defend Israel militarily should they be attacked.
No matter what your opinion is of Islam, Israel, or the Arab nations, including Iran, you should pay careful attention to this situation in the next few weeks and months because whatever happens there is likely to affect you and your family, perhaps for some time to come.

Welcome to FR.
its apparent, the world commmunity and the US will not do anything. Israel ultimately will be the ones to bomb their facilities... it will happen swiftly and under the cover of darkness. The US is gun shy now. We kept reading propaganda about how Iran's nukes was entering a critical phase in March and the US was going to have to attack sometime in late March... Sorry folks, not going to happen.
