This was a type of human sacrifice.

An interesting little story. This one sentence says it all, though. Abortion is barbaric on the same scale that Aztec human sacrifice was and belongs in the same category. It's not a practice of a civilized people, but an uncivilized one. Just because our savages wear white lab coats and are called doctor doesn't make them any less savage than the Aztec who murders people and pours their blood out on a sacrificial table to some heathen god.
