Dick Morris Makes Clinton Prediction in Blogger Conference Call (New Clinton Scandal?)
Gatway Pundit ^ | 9/27/06

Posted on 09/27/2006 1:53:53 PM PDT by Brian Mosely

One Jerusalem today organized a blogger conference call with noted political strategist Dick Morris.

Mr. Morris is best known as a central strategist in Bill Clinton's re-election campaign for President of the United States.

Last week, Mr. Morris and Eileen McGann published a critical article about the Clinton's that the Main Stream Media largely ignored. Entitled "Emir's A Gusher for Bill and Hillary" the op-ed charges that Bill Clinton and those in the inner circle of both Clintons have enjoyed large financial benefits from Clinton's relationship with Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This story involves the controversial Dubai ports deal.

Since publication of this largely ignored column the news media has been hotly debating President Clinton's handling of the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Did he do enough or didn't he? Did Senator Clinton know that her campaign consultants were on the payroll of the Sheik?

In its continuing effort to bring to the blogosphere information that the Main Stream Media downplays or ignores One Jerusalem took the opportunity to have one of the most astute Clinton watchers give his perspective.

Dick Morris came out of the corner swinging...

Dick Morris first talked about a Latest Clinton Scandal... the "Sheik Shakedown" Scandal!

Bill and Hillary Clinton's connection between the emir of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, seems ever more intimate. There is no six degrees of separation here! And, just how is Clinton being compensated for helping the Sheik?

* We don't know.
* There is a substantial basis for believing that it is a very large sum.
* The flip side is that there is a political side to this involving Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
* The emir is not a great guy. He is cited in a Miami court case for camel jockeying- child camel riders, a very dangerous profession.
The political reputations of the Clintons are linked to this story.

This was touched on briefly in the spring.

More on the Clintons and the November Election:

* Clinton was a dismal failure in fighting terrorism.

Dick Morris told Bill that his legacy would include how he dealt with the terrorism. He failed!

Hillary is a European liberal and believes that that is a system that we need.
Was Clinton deliberate in his interview? 9-11 Report (and the conservative blogs) contradicts everything that the Clinton's said during his FOX interview.

There is nothing Bill does that is out of control. His rages are the ultimate form of control. The closer you get to the truth the more vociferous he is with his indignation. Once the issue was raised about how he fought terrorism, he thought he had to unload. September is always his month. Not this year. Bill stepped on his story and brought attention to the Clinton years. This was a mistake. Ask Bill about something that hits close to home and he rages.

Sandy Berger was trying to take documents with hand written notes that would implicate the Clintons. This essentially knocked him out of the race for the Secretary of State. He was covering for the Clintons and actually destroyed some of the documents that he stole.

Dick writes columns for The Hilland the New York Post.

Clinton threatened the media last week that he would investigate them if they got too close.

Gore would be the only one to beat Hillary next year in the primaries. He won't.

When Hillary wins the democratic primary she has a very good chance of winning the national election.
The under-represented single women will come out in droves to vote for her.

Kerry had 9 million new voters.
With Hillary in the race, there will be a huge increase in voter turnout. Blacks and Hispanics adore the Clintons.

Q: Why did Sandy Berger only got a wrist slap?
Morris: Bush helped the Clintons.
Bush pardoned the Clintons and their people.
Bush linked Bill Clinton to his father, Bush Sr., in Katrina and the tsunami relief and this elevated Bill tremendously.
Laura Bush just last week spoke at the Clinton Summit.
The Bushes did more to elevate the Clintons than anyone.

Midterms?
The country wants to vote democrat. The country feels protected. The issues that remain lean toward the democrats. The scandals are horrific and the attempts to reform miniscule. Most people do approve of Patriot Act and wiretapping.
Bush every single day has to push the terror issue. It is very hard to make prediction at this point. Today 3-4 Republican and some house seats would be lost but this will change and slant towards the democrats in the month of October.

Next week One Jerusalem will have an expert on the Middle East and International Terrorism talk about the Bangladeshi journalist who is on trial for blasphemy and faces the death sentence.

READ THIS FROM THE JOHN SPENCER FOR SENATE BLOG:

Columnist and former Clinton political surrogate Dick Morris and Eileen McGann detailed today -- in The New York Post -- what could be millions of dollars in conflicted lobbying dollars from the emir of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

From last week's New York Post (9/21/06):

Emir's a Gusher For Bill and Hillary

Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

With each new disclosure, Bill and Hillary Clinton's connection between the emir of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, seems ever more intimate.

Last February, Sen. Clinton was out front in condemning DP World, a Dubai government owned company seeking to take over key operations at American ports.  But, at the same time, Bill was advising the emir to hire his former press secretary, Joe Lockhart, to get the deal approved.

Back then, Lockhart denied working for the emir.  And when Bill's role became public, Hillary claimed that she had no idea that he had any involvement in DP World issue.

Now, it turns out that the emir's Dubai International Capital Corp. hired Lockhart's company, Glover Park group, by last April to help with another U.S. deal -- a takeover of two defense firms (Besides Lockhart, Glover Park's partners also include Hillary's chief political gurus, Howard Wolfson and Gigi Georges.  Dubai paid the firm $100,000 for its services.)

Oddly, the lobbying came through a California law firm -- Morrison, Foerster.  One of that firm's partners is Raj Tanden -- whose sister is Neera Tanden, Sen. Clinton's former legislative director and still a top Hillary advisor.

No six degrees of separation here.

Did Hillary know about the lucrative lobbying contract that her husband's patron and friend, the emir, gave (via her aide's brother's law firm) to her chief campaign consultants?

Did her own top consultants tell her about their Dubai deal?  Did they ask her permission?  We don't know.

Hillary's office claims that Glover Park never lobbied her on either Dubai issue.  But Newsday reports that it did contact other New York critics of the port deal:  Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Peter King.  Why wouldn't they contact Sen. Clinton, too, given her objections?  Maybe they don't have to because Bill delivers on those issues at home.

The relationship between the Clintons and the emir has long been too close to avoid scrutiny.

Something is driving up Bill and Hillary's net worth pretty dramatically.  In 2003, Sen. Clinton disclosed assets of at least $352,000 but less than $3.8 million.  By 2005, she was declaring assets in the $10 million to $50 million rane.

What caused the jump?  It might have been Dubai.

* Clinton is a top advisor to Yucaipa, an investment company run by billionaire Ron Burkle, which, through a subsidiary, got to manage the emir's investment portfolio shortly after Clinton joined the firm.

* Clinton gets a flat fee from Yucaipa and a share of the profits on the foreign investment fund it manages.  (Hillary's Senate disclosure form notes only that Bill gets more than a $1,000 a year in compensation from this.)

* The emir gave an undisclosed donation to the Clinton Presidential Library -- but it must have been hefty:  The library set up a Clinton Scholars program for young people from the Arab nation, the only such program it runs.

* Bill Clinton has twice given speeches in Dubai for close to $500,000.

The close ties to the emir may cause problems for the Clintons.  The sheik turns out to be not such a nice guy.  Just last week, a group of parents filed a class action lawsuit against him and his brother in federal court in Miami, claiming that they conspired in a scheme that "abducted and trafficked thousands of small boys from South Asia and Africa to the United Arab Emirates and other Arab states and enslaved them to work as camel jockeys, camel trainers and camel tenders."

The suit says that "boys as young as two years old were stolen from their parents, trafficked to foreign lands, and put under the watch of brutal overseers in camel camps throughout the region."

It's time for the financial relationship between the Clintons and the emir to be fully disclosed.  There are too many questions and conflicts here that need to be sorted out.

John Spencer, Republican and Conservative candidate for U.S. Senate, agreed with what Dick Morris said last week in The New York Post about Senator Clinton and her husband's lack of disclosure on Dubai.

"It's time for the financial relationship between the Clintons and the emir of Dubai to be fully disclosed," said Spencer. "There are too many questions and conflicts here that need to be sorted out."

Clinton aides had hand in Dubai deal

BY GLENN THRUSH

Newsday Washington Bureau
September 14, 2006

WASHINGTON -- In the spring, when Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton was denouncing the Dubai Ports World deal, a consulting firm run by her top advisers was quietly lobbying for a Dubai takeover of two U.S. defense plants, Newsday has learned.

The Glover Park Group, whose principals include Clinton insiders Howard Wolfson, Joe Lockhart and Gigi Georges, was paid about $100,000 to help the government-owned Dubai International Capital Corp. in its acquisition of the British engineering firm Doncasters Group Ltd.

The four-month lobbying effort apparently didn't include any contact with Clinton's office. "They [Glover Park] didn't have contact with us on either" of the Dubai deals, said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines.

I've found that even democrats were disgusted by Hillary's lies about not knowing anything about the Dubai ports deal.

Hmmmm...this might call for some Freeper research, because this could prove to be very damaging. It also might explain other things...such as why ex42 wasn't that keen on hunting terrorists.

This might have been front page news in the Post and around the blogosphere at the time if they had done the same kind of weekend research most FReepers did during the Dubai ports showdown. It's all documented here at FR. Good to see the Post, Dick Morris, and the blogosphere finally start to catch up.

Apparently not. It's all documented here at FR and has been for months. The media just ignored it because they were too busy with the Republicans hammering Bush.

I've been concerned about why the Bushes and the Clintons appear to be pals...yet the Republicans and the Democrats are at each other's throats either offensively or defensively all the time.

It's true. G.W. Bush has been propping the Clintons up....any thoughts about why?????

Bull***. You can't prove that one way or the other. Clinton's ripped this president apart and still to this day, every chance he gets, despite the fact that Clinton himself told a fricken lie on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace to the effect of (wagging finger) "I've never once criticized this president and his decisions.... EVER!"

Stop coming up with theories that president Bush is doing Clinton's bidding.

Yep.
IMHO, things in Washington have never been the same since the
clinton mafia threatened their "scorched earth" policy during the
impeachment fiasco. The threat of mutally assured destruction
has spawned nothing more than a mutual protection racket in DC.
