Here is the Blog Entry: Evangelicals Against Mitt People are funny!
One such concerned evangelical, Tricia Erickson, was raised in the Mormon faith but left as an adult. She has attended the McLean Bible Church in northern Virginia. Erickson adamantly opposes the LDS church, which she considers a brainwashing cult. She has launched a media blitz designed to discredit Romney based on his religion.
In an interview, Erickson told me that Romney has "got the image. He's a good business man. He has the coiffed hair with every hair in place. ... He has a pretty, blonde Mormon wife; he has a chiseled face. He is very polished. He has that image which Mormons develop through the Mormon Church to present to the public to give credibility to the religion."
I'm wondering which Non-Public face Ms. Erickson thinks the church tells us to hide away from prying eyes. Could it be something like this? Satan.jpg Click on the image to learn WHO this nasty fellow is.
Bill Keller, evangelical host of the Florida-based "Live Prayer TV." Last year he told his reported 2.4 million e-mail subscribers that a vote for Romney would mean a vote for Satan.
"The presidency is the most powerful position in the world," Keller explained to me. "If Romney was elected president, it would give mainstream credibility and acceptance to the Mormon cult and lead millions of people into that cult."
WOW, Cult, Satan, brainwashing...these are strong words. When I was a little girl my mother taught me how to hide my horns really well under my hair. It is just part of mormonism. We don't want our children to be identified as satan worshippers, so we cover up the evidence as much as possible...once in a while bald men and new born children will be unable to cover the horns up, so we use hats and fake wigs to keep up the facade. Mormon%20baby%20wearing%20wig.jpg Carrie Sheffield, a member of the LDS Church, is a writer living in Washington, D.C. and she finished up the piece by saying:
"The LDS church is likely to continue its current modest-but-impressive growth whether or not Romney wins the White House. Perhaps the only real worry for evangelicals is that, if elected, the former Massachusetts governor will demonstrate to Americans that Mormons don't have horns."

Joseph Smith in History of the Church, Vol. 6, pp. 408-409:

God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devil--all corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet. You know my daily walk and conversation. I am in the bosom of a virtuous and good people. How I do love to hear the wolves howl! When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go.

The last sentence above is a doozy don't you think? There are the horns, right there.

Greg,

The church lady has some great words of wisdom for you. http://www.danacarvey.net/media/snl_cl_special.wav church%20lady.jpg

Well, isn't that Special..... (click on the image!)

In the Doctrine and Covenants we have a great scripture given to Joseph Smith when he was in Liberty Jail in Missouri.

And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

Jospeh taught doctrines that turned the world upside down, the christian world, and so I can understand why some people feel the need to criticize, twist, and denigrate. But why do you? You throw out some quote as evidence of Josephs supposed satan worship, yet deny the very foundation of our faith, which is in fact his testimony of a visitation from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Weird.

I don't need you shoving my religion and quotes from Joseph in my face. I have studied his teachings and the Four Standard works of my faith my whole life. Why don't YOU get a life and focus on your faith and your life, and leave mine alone?

It was SATIRE.....you know, funny, ha ha hee hee, humor.

You respond to humor with some “Joseph Smith worshipped Satan, and here is the evidence to prove it” and you deserve all of the heckling you get.

Greg,

I read your quote twice, and if you think from that I read that Joseph and Satan were best friends, well, we simply have a difference of opinion on the interpretation of that quote.

I could share with you the mormon interpretation of what he was saying, but don’t want to waste my time.

I have a question for you though.

When you stand before Heavenly Father on the judgement day and he asks you why you were so obsessed with dissing and MIS-interpreting the doctrines of his Peeps, the mormons, are you going to say to him.....

“Uh, Father, The DEVIL made me do it!!!”

And just what exactly will that say about you....and who you are being influenced by and can we fairly assume that you and Satan are best buds if you use said excuse???

Or have I misinterpreted you and those you are influenced by and love to use as an excuse for your behavior?

Ridiculous? It is about as silly as that quote from our history PROVING that Joseph and Satan were buds.

Please, I said it before, Get a life. We love Jesus Christ with all of our hearts. Every sunday, for three hours we talk of Christ, we preach of Christ, we sing of Christ and we take the sacrament in Jesus Christs name.

Go to an LDS sunday sacrament meeting....please, you will make yourself so much more credible if you just open your mind an heart to the truth of who we are and what we believe.

These are also Joseph Smiths words:

The Testimony of The Prophet Joseph Smith

And the folks at FAIR have taken on the Anti Mormon GodMakers point by point to defend our faith.

In this chapter, which is a response to the chapter "A Non-Prophet Organization" two of the lines from your quote are addressed (towards the bottom).

We are taught not to Bash with people about our faith and specific doctrines. But for you and those who may be interested, I share these links to further the education process. We are The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the only "HORN" that is proudly displayed on all of our temples, Books of Mormon, and talked about in the scriptures is the Trumpet of Moroni, which is depicted in this photograph.

Milk before meat! Suck ‘em in and let ‘em know the details later. Just a nice Christian group that shuns anyone that leaves the faith and refuses to return. Demand of 10% tithe to get a “temple recommend” and to remain in good standing. Highest suicide rate in the nation, right there in Utah.

I just can’t get that picture of you standing before the Lord out of my mind. You are going to be accountable for the lies you tell.

I don’t know anything about your faith, don’t really care what you believe, what you do with your time, money, talents, and how you worship the Lord.

WHY do you care so much about my faith?

Jenny

PS I have never shunned anyone who left our faith, or anyone of any other faith for that matter.

In the Mormon faith it’s Joseph Smith I meet first, right? He’s the first hurdle in judgement, before Christ or the Father. Is that before or after I need the secret handshakes to get into heaven? If Joseph Smith doesn’t let me through do I even stand before God? Questions that make you go — what the heck are these poor people staking their eternal lives on?

Eternal Life?

An eternity of eternal progression, loving families, and growing line upon line until we become like our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother.

Mock if you must, it is very precious and sacred to me.

If Romney was a conservative I would vote for him , if he was elected, I would keep aware of his devotion to this church in relation to how he governed. My opposition to him is the ties to Bain Capital which he founded, and their contracts with CommunistChina to manufacture parts for our military. I see no reason why we can*t make our own parts, especially in this War on Terror. A defective part can and will kill our soldiers! And those in power who allow this IMO are betraying us all. Mitt Romney has to answer this!

Matthew 22

Marriage at the Resurrection

23That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24”Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him. 25Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27Finally, the woman died. 28Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”
29Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

And yet the Mormons assure us that they are Christians. What do we see atop their temples? Moroni. Where is the cross? Obviously they are not Christians.

The Galatians one passage below depicts Mormons distancing themselves from the grace of Christ (the cross)while embracing the false gospel of the angel Moroni. Note the double emphasis in verses 8 & 9.

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
