It doesn't upset me, and as someone who attended inner city schools (who is also no sociologist) I will agree that Black people are more prone to settle issues with violence -- with and without firearms -- than white people are. I will also admit Black people commit a disproportionate number of crimes: no one can deny that. The statistics are what they are. My point is that law abiding people of any color should not be denied access to weapons. The right to keep and bear arms -- to defend ourselves -- is a right endowed us by our Creator which no temporal power may presume upon itself the power to take away.
Even as a practical and purely selfish matter, this is my right and I'm not giving it up. You know how these things go: if we allow that the government may withhold 2nd Amendment Rights in the inner city, the argument will not be that we can retain them in the countryside, but rather, that the 14th Amendment requires "equal protection." That means no guns for anybody.
If a certain number of criminals -- many career felons who have already lost their right to keep and bear arms through due process -- need to die to protect my right to keep and bear arms, it seems a small price to pay; if society will not send them to the gas chamber where they belong, they can kill each other for all I care.

Two of my long time friends were Marines when I was in the Seabees, many years ago. They happen to be Black. If you want to hear someone rant about the cause of disprution in the Black community, either one of those men make Bill Cosby sound like soft hearted liberal. They chew on any and every Black guy that has children and didn’t hug his kids that morning. Didn’t check their homework last night, got drunk in front of his kids, didn’t support his wifes decision, you name it and those guys will talk about everything that is wrong in Black America.
Now these guys have kids of their own. Those kids wouldn’t dream of talking back to Mom or Dad. They open doors for older people, have excellent manners and got darn good grades in school. They probably wouldn’t be alive today if they hadn’t obeyed when Dad said jump. Those kids didn’t hang around with gangs because their Mom and Dad kept them busy with other things while they were growing up. Their Dad is most certainly a large part of why those children live crime free, successful lives today.
Just maybe we need to double up on recruitment for the Marine Corps in Black communities.
