Attacks on Obama working--keep it up
Not WRIGHT for America ^ | 7/27/08 | Tim Brugger

Even the liberal media have picked up on the fact that McCain seems to have held steady or even improved his poll standing in the last week or so (though Gallup has Obama with a 49-40 lead today it appears to be an outlier). This is especially impressive given Obama's massive spending and his overseas trip, which appeared to be a big success for Obama, as even The Washington Times admits.

Obama did look presidential, which may also help him put to rest lingering doubts that some voters harbor. So why hasn't Obama's spending and overseas trip produced a bounce in the polls? It's simple--McCain has been in full attack mode, and these attacks have been blunting the impact of Obama's spending and successful trip.

My blog has often urged McCain to sharpen his attacks on Obama as the only real path to victory in a year that promises to be a bad one for Republicans. Obama has a very low burden of proof given his tailwind--he simply has to make himself marginally acceptable to the electorate, and he will likely win, as the public simply is not in the mood to elect another Republican president after Bush's two terms.

That means McCain must attack constantly. McCain has given us a taste of what the rest of his campaign should look like, and it's working. McCain blasted away on Obama's opposition to The Surge, which Obama actually predicted would increase violence, and which even Obama now admits has had a positive impact. Obama is actually very much in a pickle here with seemingly contradictory positions on an imporant issue, and for a change, the media are not giving him a lot of breaks on this one.

McCain also made the valid point that Obama and a lot of other defeatists seem almost giddy about American defeat, and it's fair to speculate that these defeatists' previously improving electoral prospects were driving the giddiness. And McCain bashed Obama on his change of plans on visiting Landstahl military hospital in Germany, and quickly produced an ad for swing state consumption.

McCain can't worry about the media backlash that his attacks are already generating from the Obama media. And thanks to the media's fawning over Obama, McCain has a ready response to media attacks that are sure to escalate if this race tightens, which it will if he stays on the attack. That is, the media assault is just another part of the media's love affair with Obama and their efforts to get him elected.

Swing voters must see Obama as extreme, risky and inexperienced for McCain to have a chance to win. That won't happen unless McCain and his allies make that case to the voters directly by bashing Obama from now to November 4.

Amen! McCain has to pull out all the stops or on the morning of Nov. 5, he'll regret it.

Does anyone know if the McCain Campaign peruses websites like Free Republic? They could get some valuable campaign advice, free, right here. And, they'd find out the heartbeat of the majority of Americans.

One more thing: The McCain camp needs grassroots organization in every precinct of these 6 states: PA, MI, OH, VA, FL AND CO. If he carries those states, Obama can pack it in because some states, like my home State of Texas, are a given.

I don’t get it. What polls are accurate and why is Gallup showing such a large margin? Which polls are legit?

The New Senate bill introduced by Barack Hussein Obama, does tell us the general direction he is headed. It is senate bill S-2433, which has already been passed in the Senate in one form. This bill will cost Americans about 845 billon dollars. That money will go to the UN to help to lift the whole world out of poverty, when we are many trillions of dollars in debt, and our own people do not have health insurance, and our jobs have been given to third world countries. The ‘Global Poverty Act’ is to cost each citizen $2,500 or more.
The Global Poverty bill S-2433.http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s110-2433

The plan sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is estimated to cost the U.S. some $845 billion over the coming few years in an effort to raise the standard of living around the globe.
Obama wants to turn the USA over to the UN and have a standing UN Army. God help us all.

That is scary. We MUST use the internet (YouTube, blogs, websites like Free Republic, E-mails, etc.) and every grassroots level of activity we can. This is the only way we can combat B. Hussein’s campaign dollars.

My parents were married several years and still had no children so they gave some thought to adopting a little girl, and she was old enough to read and write, so they brought her to visit their home. But while she was with my parents, she was stealing small things from the home and sending them to her real parents. She even mailed them some safety pins. So my parents took her back home.

This reminded me of Obama. He did not want to be like his white mother, for he wanted to be like a black man. Later on he went back to Kenya to be with his “real family” and he saw them living in grass huts, living a very poor life, so now Obama wants to rob the United States to give the little that we do have to give to the world’s poor. We can not even afford health insurance for our own people, homes are being foreclosed in mass, and our good jobs that did have security have already gone to the third world countries. Obama’s mentor, Jeremiah Wright is the one who said, “God damn America” and this is the sentiment of Barack Obama. Please pray for America, for we are in grave danger. No wonder Obama did not want to pledge his allegiance to America or wear an American flag pin, for his allegiance does not go to America. His senate bill proves it.

These fools like Obama simply do not understand and will never get it in their minds that the world will all ways have an underclass of poor people.

I can understand Obama wanting to bring Africa out of poverty.

But lets face it, the only great country in Africa for the last 2,000 years was when Anglo European Rome took over Egypt and made it into a wealthy going concern.

Obama being the World leader and Messiah that his Narcissistic Personality shows him to be, needs to stroke his already inflated ego by saying, I Barracks Hussein Obama have Obamatized My African brothers by bankrupting Americas citizens.

If this give away is so important why isn't Saudi Arabia,China or Russia kicking in equal amounts so instead of pulling them up out of a 2,000 year poverty cycle we can make them all rich.

If Obama gets elected the stupidity of the American people deserve what they get from this naivete nincompoop.

The bible states that in the end times a charlatan, fraud, phony bologna Messiah will come to lead the world and only a few will know not follow him to doom.

Obama is running a campaign for Obama, not one against McCain. McCain is running a campaign against Obama and not one for McCain. McCain ads are negative; Obama ads are positive. McCain comes off as a nagging shrew, taking a sentence or an action of Obama and trying to make it into something big - which it isn’t. McCain was for the surge; if we have heard that once, we have heard it adnauseum. If that is all he has done to be president, he is lacking. McCain says he’s for changing Washington; he has been there forever and the laws he and his Democrat friends passed, were all bad. His campaign so far is the pits.

Obama's speech in Germany could very well be his In the Tank moment.

The only people impressed were foreigners and US journalists, but the average American needs something VISUAL to hang an opinion on. The opinion that Obama is out of his depth in foreign policy is in this visual--John McCain CAPTURED during wartime, vs. Obama in his nice suit and Sunday Best Spock Ears TALKING...and somehow thinking that is the equivalent to a military record.

Now, this could easily be Bush vs. Clinton--"I can't believe someone would vote for this draft dodger over someone who fought in a war."

But maybe not. One thing that encourages me is how McCain keeps walloping away on Obama and Iraq. The lib talking heads would say "America wants out of Iraq, Obama does, too, so stick to other issues." But in presidential elections it always seems like there's an X Factor--an issue or approach that no one sees as winning which saves the day (or ruins it).

I have this sense that Obama's people are crowing about this Europe trip and they're not aware that Americans aren't buying it. I don't think Americans are against Obama yet, but when this thing has time to sink in...who knows?

I wish we could force a new candidate on the GOP, I don’t want obama winning but I dont want a Mccain presidency. A Mccain presidency gives gravitaz to the RINO movement and many conservatives will be lock step with his policies that will differ little from Obamas, yes there will be some biggies that he is different from but we will die of the 1000 cuts. Afterall if its ok if Mccain does it cuz he has an r by his name.

I think it's great that it's working. The timing for this peace we are seeing certainly works in our favor.

I hope McCain is saving some walloping on domestic oil drilling for when the election gets closer. That's another strong point where the Dems need to be exposed as the perps for our high gas prices.

It's not a stupid question at all; I knew a couple of ladies at my last FOB who smoked cigars. I don't...I have that cigarette habit, but I've cut way back. LOL

Camp Slayer....goodness, I haven't been there since 2004 when ISG was running the show. I'll bet it's changed a lot since then.

I'm in the IZ now, but far enough removed from the State Dept. types, thank goodness. I passed briefly through the BIAP area just over two weeks ago, but wasn't there more than a few hours.

Take care of YOU! :-D

Which polls are legit?

Most people seem to think that polls that show their guy doing well are legit. Polls that show the opposite are usually said to be trash.

The writers at the Washington Times need to get out of the beltway now and then.

What is presidential about manic dashing from country to country with a big stupid grin on one’s face.

What is presidential about dismissing a visit to the troops in order to play basketball at the Ritz.

Am getting pretty sick of the supposed fair and balanced media.
