I spent the past week in New York, helping my mother recover from surgery. It was a new role for me, taking care of my mom. It must, I think, have been somewhat destabilizing.
Perhaps when previously untapped wells of care-for-others are accessed, there’s no stopping the flow. Or perhaps it was just that, after five days locked in stare-downs with my mother’s cat, my eyes were playing tricks on me.
This may explain why, on Tuesday afternoon when I went to The Times Web site and saw the photo of Sarah Palin with Henry Kissinger, a funny thing happened. A wave of self-recognition and sympathy washed over me.
That’s right — self-recognition and sympathy. Rising up from a source deep in my subconscious. I saw a woman fully aware that she was out of her league, scared out of her wits, hanging on for dear life. I saw this in the sag of her back in her serious black suit, in the position of her hands, crossed modestly atop her knees, and in that “Mad Men”-era updo, ever unchanging, like a good luck charm.

These skanks are so jealous of Governor Palin. Sarah is 100 times the woman these skanks will ever be. Judith Warner is a loser.

I’m sorry, but if you’re mentally exhausted after a couple of hours looking after a sick relative and a cat, maybe you shouldn’t pass judgment on someone who can raise five children while running a state responsible for 20% of the country’s energy production.

I’m pretty good at reading people, and fear is not something I’ve ever seen in Sarah Palin.
I’ve seen a touch of nervousness at times, during an interview, but that’s not the same thing. I have, noticed some pretty strong arrogance in Obama.
Judith Warner, don’t fool yourself! You understanding nothing about Governor Palin b/c the only thing the two of you share in common is a bit of biology. You, Judith Warner, are merely another squalid vicious whiny leftist POS.

I’d nodded along knowingly as a band of old-school liberals, gathered in my mother’s apartment to cheer her through her convalescence, tore the Alaska governor apart.
“He’s probably the first Jew she’s ever met,” one older gentleman, who himself had grown up as one of the only Jews in pre-World-War-II Lincoln, Neb., said of her meeting with Kissinger.
I'll bet anything that Sarah has shown more support for Israel than any of these closeted NY liberals.
(time to shut down and have a beer and chips -- but will wash my hands first.)

Couric Diminishes Gov. Palin

CBS New anchor Katie Couric ordered staff to drop all references to “Governor” or “Gov.” from her interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. When a staff member pointed out that in other venues, Couric and CBS News had referred to Governor Palin’s opponent, Joe Biden, using his title of “Senator” or the abbreviation, Couric, according to a CBS News editorial aide, sought approval from CBS News management to drop the “Governor” reference during her broadcast interview with Palin that began on Wednesday night.
We’ll see if they moderate my comments to the blog or let ‘em ride.

Sarah Palin is a strong supporter of Israel. The DemonRat presidential candidate has a history of sympathizing with the Palestinian cause. He once called Israel, “a “constant wound” and a “constant sore” that infects “all of our foreign policy.” Obama is an Jew-hater magnet. His campaign is infested with vile Anti-Semites.
Couric and the rest of Obama’s MSM DemonRat propagandists are scum. They have no journalistic integrity. I’m involved in broadcast media. I know how images and information are manipulated by people who have a political agenda and who use their positions to try to influence public opinion.

This is a massive smear campaign against McCain Palin on the part of the MSM.
They know if they can’t force Obama into the White House, their own lives as “arbiters of culture” are over.
