Can’t wait until he gets his new Gestapo set up! Things are going to get interesting.

I don’t mean to be cruel, but I’m laughing right now at the hand-wringing I’m seeing here on FR. The average voter is an ignoramus, you say? Well, there’s a news flash! PROTIP: the Founders restricted the franchise to rich white men for very good reasons. But no, we were so much smarter than they were. Everybody gets to vote now — even the kiddies.

And yet we cry when they vote for the loudest carnie barker on the midway.

Well, save your tears. I have been arguing against representative government here on FR for the better part of a decade now, and I have always been shouted down. “I trust the American people!” the critics say. “God won’t let them vote the country into the toilet!” Well, please don’t squeeze the Charmin, friends, but the Ti-D-Bol Man is off the port bow.

Giving the average moron a vote is like giving a chimpanzee an Uzi. History demonstrates this over and over. Yet we act surprised when Bongo shoots up the joint? Madness.

So cry if you must, but don’t believe for a minute that I’m crying along with you. Nope, I’m laughing my ass off — at the election, the system, and the pathos of no-more-kings “conservatives” who are finding out the hard way that a government that derives its powers from the will of the governed is a tyrant worse than the worst king that ever lived.

Joe:

The sooner Republicans admit to themselves that they squandered their opportunities in Congress when they had the majority by doing nothing and that Bush was indeed an embarrassment and McCain was just as much an idiot, bottom of the class kind of idiot, the better off Republicans will be.

I said it from the beginning. The party couldn't have picked a worse candidate to run against Obama. They should have chosen Mit Romney. His academic record outmatched Obama. His business and economic acumen outmatched Obama not to mention he is young.

Palin was also a bad move. McCain should have picked someone who was smarter than him. Not dumber.

Bush did more damage to the Republican party than any other president. History will prove me right. Wait and see. Republicans need to wake the hell up and stop blaming others.

It started with this ridiculous “compassionate conservatism”, along with this equally ridiculous idea that we can nation build a democracy in an islamic country.

Joe, You are one of the fair guys in here and I respect your opinion. I must respectfully disagree. I need to see what was wrong and not be afraid to be critical of ourselves in order to right the ship. Even if it hurts.

We need someone who is academically strong, good speaker, think on their feet, solid business and econ. acumen, has charisma, young, (sorry old folks), in touch and will actually listen to their base. Someone with teeth when necessary and someone with humility when necessary.

Bush couldn't speak or think to save his life. This is where he was a brutal embarrassment. Like, being asked what sovereignty means and not knowing it. “I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office.” —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008
