I'm so sorry JHENN22499! It was sad for so many but so much harder when you were actually part of the experience.

I just watched the video in post #33 and it's an amazing video, almost 10 minutes long.

Then I went and read Don McLean's lyrics for American Pie and what a story writer he was, it just encompasses so much.

That song has always made me sad when I hear it.

Even sadder I lost my best friend Jeff Dwyer when he was only 40. That is Jerry's oldest son. He died in 1993. Cancer.

The pilot was no idiot. He only failed instrument rating due to hearing....more to the story..
