"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss" Sometime tomorrow former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Israel. As Bibi starts his new reign make sure to throw out all of your projections about this government, and look for surprises.

As Foreign Minister Lieberman will not have as much influence as you may think. Remember Tzipi Livni complained that the entire Second Lebanon War was waged with little input from the foreign ministry.

Expect Barak and Netanyahu to be "glued at the hip." These two veterans of many political wars respect each other, Bibi believes that Barak was a good defense minister and will rely on his judgment. Don't forget that as defense minister, Barak has more influence on "regional issues" than the foreign minister. As DM the Barak is the "Military Governor" of the Judea and Samaria. Perhaps that was the reason that Netanyahu was so "quick" to give Lieberman the foreign ministry.

Remember, on most "foreign" issues Barak and Bibi agree:

I hold him in highest regard. He ranks right up there with the greatest in my estimation. May God bless Israel and Mr. Netanyahu.

Getting rid of Bibi was a very major policy agenda item for the KKKlintons. This represents a major policy reversal for them and all their fellow travelers.

He foolishly have away the store last time he was PM. He alone abided by the promises both sides made during the Oslo Accords, while the Palestinian Atabs abided by not even one of the things they promised. He used to say, “ Presumably Bibi’s learned from his mistakes.

The best advice for the new PM in dealing with Iran, Hamas, Syria and the rest of them comes from the God Father II Move

look, let's get them all. Let's hit them all. Now while we got the muscle...

Bibi has been dreaming about this come back since 1999. And, he worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen. What really helped was Ehud Barak’s “call” that Livni was incompetent. And, together, behind the scenes, they finally brought Olmert’s government to an end.

Even more important, was how Bibi went out of his way to offer Livni so many portfolios, that all she could do was insult him. She was so sure he was going to fail in even forming a government. Let alone for Ehud Barak to bring Labor to Bibi. (Even though that was the plan from the very beginning.)

What I learned? Bibi has the patience of a saint. He sat through 39 months of Olmert. And, it is finally, now, in his hands. Even Silvan Shalom “hopped into the position Netanyahu provided.) After, of course, at first, having a tantrum.

Bibi seems to know how to “ride the news.”

And, up ahead? Well, by April 7th, you’ll see the landscape. I think, then, Obama will be in Turkey; making nice to those dogs. And, trying to “fashion” Dubya’s ill-fitting plans onto the Israelis. (Which is what makes Obama look so dumb!)

Meanwhile, for the USA, it will be 4 long years.

OH, by the way, there’s a book out there, TOO MUCH PROMISED LAND. Written by Aaron Miller, who was an insider at Camp David. Etc. Turns out, I kid you not. That Arafat’s group STOLE a golf cart! When he came to one of Clinton’s Camp David “accords.”

I ask you how can you steal a golf cart! Did they just fill it with luggage and run it to the plane that departed when Arafat left?

Read enough, and you learn about the most surprising things.

Also, FDR once said, “Nothing happens in politics that’s a surprise.” EVERYTHING IS PLANNED OUT. (Sure. Football games, too.) Doesn’t guarantee the win. Only that you have some ideas on how you want to run the ball.
