MSNBC Hides Obama's Dijon Mustard
Legal Insurrection Blog ^ | 5-5-2009 | Legal Insurrection

MSNBC, Obama's favorite network, reported on Obama's trip with Joe Biden to get a burger. Just two wild and crazy guys out for some red meat. Andrea Mitchell (does she have nothing else to do?) reported that Obama ordered a burger and mustard. But the video (at the link) and story didn't mention that it was Dijon mustard. Bet he had to seek John Kerry's counsel on that.

Andrea Mitchell . . . reported that Obama ordered a burger and mustard.

That figures.

Here's an excerpt of an article about the meal:

A craving for fast food has seen President Barack Obama forego his usual lunch date in the White House and head straight to a burger bar. With a similarly peckish vice president Joe Biden in tow, the head of state fired up the motorcade for a brief trip to a suburban eatery by the name of Ray's Hell Burger....
Despite the VIP status of the two diners, normal rules applied with both men forced to stand in line for their slab of meat in a bun........
Mr Obama opted for a cheddar cheese burger with spicy mustard. His right-hand man went for a similarly classic American dish. Perhaps in a bid to repay the Washington press corps for largely favorable reporting, a generous-minded Mr Obama even offered to feed the gathered hacks.
"Who's taking orders here? My treat to the pool. Who want's a burger?" the president asked. Take up was mixed.
Surprised staff appeared reluctant to take money for the order, but Mr Obama insisted. "We're paying, or these people are gonna write about how we're free-loading," he said, referring to the newsmen and women present.....
Having paid - even leaving a tip of five dollars - Messrs Obama and Biden sat down at a table and had their lunch.

Wouldn’t you hate to you hate to live with cameras following you wherever you went? To me, NOTHING would be worth that.

I don't think that I've ever heard a cheeseburger, especially a cheddar one with mustard, described as a "classic American meal" before.

To which John replied, "Ask them 'Is this where I cun git me sum uh that grey pooooopon?' and whatever you do, don't ask for Swiss cheese!

I hope those two clowns don’t ever, EVER do that again. Don’t they realize Nancy Pelosi is third in line for the Presidency? Pray daily for Joe Biden’s health.

Five dollars? That’s like about a 2% tip for all the food he ordered.

I couldn’t care less what he has on his burger.

I just don’t want him telling me what I have to have on mine.

Or worse still taking half of mine and “spreading it around” while he tells me what to have on my remaining half.

Toppings on a hamburger are regional in nature anyhow. In New York, ketchup is the only acceptable condiment. That’s how I was raised, that’s how I like ‘em. A bacon-cheeseburger (American cheese please) with fries is my favorite diner order in NY.

Here in Georgia they slather mayonnaise all over the damned thing by default.

If you order saying “no mayonnaise” they take it as some kind of code for “extra mayonnaise” and slop on even more.

Yeah, a real burger joint - with cheddar cheese! If he really wanted to convince the public that he was one of the regulars he wouldn’t have told the order taker that he wanted mustard, no ketchup. The condiments, (and seen in the report) were on the table .... as usual!

When I was working in New Iberia, La there was this little out of the way fast food stand that had great sandwiches on french bread. I ordered a chili dog. When I got back to the office I started eating and there was no "dog" just chili!

I made a comment that next time I would check and make sure there was a "dog" in the chili dog I ordered. One of the Ladies in the office said that is a chili dog. We don't put a hot dog in a chili dog!
