God bless Sarah Palin and all Purple Heart recipients.
Now, speaking as a Vietnam War wife, I cannot help but be reminded of my husband's Purple Heart ceremony. He was shot in the leg in ‘68, pulled his sgt’s dead body out of a rice paddy, stayed in the filthy water for 6 hours before being coptered out, spent 2 months in the hospital for skin grafts, etc and then had to *write* to the VA to *ask* for his medal. It was mailed to him in ‘73.
