Influx Of Black Students Causes Teachers To Flee
Needs of the Many ^

Posted on 06/06/2009 2:30:48 PM PDT by vaper69

Whoa … this isn’t a study that paints teachers in a positive light, but it doesn’t paint minority students in one either. We’re faced with some tough questions here. Do teachers prefer non-black students, or are black students more difficult for teachers on average?

It should be noted that even black teachers are relocating, and it doesn’t completely focus on just black students. Other minorities are discussed as well as economic class.

Any bets on how long it takes for Obama to make leaving a school that has high numbers of blacks illegal?

If "even" black teachers are moving, is it the race of the students that is the motivator?

....or maybe the Thuggery Culture they may have brought with them......

Hm.

Its not the color of the students, but the culture. Black students know they are members of a privileged, protected class and act accordingly. Most come from single parent homes and have no concept of proper behavior, respect for adults and authority. Scholastic performance is considered acting “white” and selling out. Being disruptive and disrespectful is cool. Being threatening and abusive towards teachers and other students is accepted and and encouraged.

Why are KIPP schools and other charters **welcoming** the most difficult students imaginable and succeeding with them?

Could it be that the teachers are fleeing a government school system that is guaranteed to fail with these troubled children?

By the way, I will do a Google search on the words KIPP schools and teachers morale. I bet the morale in these schools for the teachers is quite high. Why? Success and systems that work are a morale builders.

As much as public schools are criticized here, I think we can all agree that even the most dedicated of public school teachers can only do so much for “students” from these environments, especially when discipline is removed from the classroom entirely.

Very well stated, and very true.

Why do I have a hard time believing this wouldn’t be happening if it were an influx of Japanese and Chinese students??

Teacher effectiveness, as measured by teachers' ability to improve student test scores, also went down in the schools with an inflow of black students.

Yeah, right, "teacher effectiveness" is the problem.

I think it's a cultural thing. I mean if I was a teacher and I had to choose between a bunch of kids who listened to rap, dressed like thugs, and had parents who didn't behave like adults and role-models who behaved worse-- and a bunch of Vietnamese kids who sat quietly and studied seriously because their parents would beat them if they got bad grades-- I would choose the Vietnamese kids.

I mean come on, if you have to tell a kid with cornrows to do something he doesn't want to do-- it's gonna be a long day.

I wouldn't attribute these differences to race, obviously, but to culture, media, etc.

American blacks have an average IQ of 85 - while above the average African IQ of 70, it is far below the American average of 100. In fact, it is borderline mentally retarded.

Now add to that all of their assertiveness, aggression and self-esteem - you have bands of idiots who think they are actually smart.

Not to mention the fact that the males have 19% more testosterone, which makes them more aggressive.

Politically incorrect? Yes.
True? Yes.

I was visiting Jamaica recently. The students there wear uniforms. They were behaved exceedingly well, at least what I saw of them. I inquired of my driver about the discipline in the schools. He said it was pretty good, but that there are liberal ideals that are stopping the old school discipline. So I believe it is a combination of racial bigotry and liberal discipline in America that is destroying the black students.

The black students in America grow up in a culture of hate. They are taught that whites are responsible for persecuting blacks and are keeping them down. They are also taught that Jews are bad and are responsible for all the ills of the Mideast.

The parents who allowed this culture of hatred to grow must realize that they are reaping what they have sown. A bunch of kids who are being groomed to be hate filled bigots are not ideal students and later on in life they will not be model citizens.

Many blacks are heroic and stand up to this atmosphere of hatred and reject it. To them my hat is off and I will stand by their side in tough times. To the others, you should not be surprised. The hatred that you have accepted and passed on in your culture is biting you in the a$$.

You are correct on every point you make. Also, they come to school filled with parent-taught hate. A young mind filled with hate has a very hard time assimilating new knowledge.

Many successful blacks I have known have been in the military or raised in a military family. Either that or from a strict, religious family. If one is surrounded by a culture of mediocrity, it must be a rare person or family who rises above it. Also, my sister, who has been a middle school and elementary teacher for years, says that single mothers in the black community are stricter with their daughters than their sons, and let the sons slide.
