Chivalry is gone from this country. Back then there were dignified duels to gain "satisfication" in cases of violated honor. I don't say that we should reintroduce duels... but the spirit of defending honor certainly should return.

Interestingly enough Alaska, along with several other states has no statutory dueling prohibition.

I appreciate the concept of dueling. I have no problem iwth it. If they reintroduced dueling, individuals such as Mr. Letterman would either refrain from making obscene references to other people's underage daughters, man up and apologize, or simply become extinct. I recall seeing the last known duel of the 20th century, between two high ranking officers of the Paraguayan ministry of defense. The two elderly gents being graduates of the military academy and traditionalist, chose sabers. With Judges and Seconds in attendance they stripped to the waist and commenced hacking away at each other in grand style. At first blood, the contest was called, and honor satisfied. Sometimes you just have to go Medieval to get a little respect.

As I said on another thread, in a better and more honorable age, Letterman would pay a physical price at the hands of father Todd for this insult.
