“Would you sign a rededicated Declaration of Independence?” Our litmus test next year
The Collins Report ^ | July 8, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

We have to get back to the America that grew into the greatest country in history. This means electing people who love and respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as they are written.

We conservatives must search for new leaders; candidates who would step forward and say: “Give me a pen and I’ll sign right there under John Hancock!”

Today both of these sacred American documents are under ferocious assault from a Marxist cabal bent on destroying them and rewriting every line. The Marxists are clear about what they want.

Conservatives have to be equally clear about our demands. We demand “defending preserving and protecting both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights” be a non negotiable principle now and always.

Demanding our candidates take this position unmasks the RINOs so we can stop wasting waste time energy and money backing people we only THINK will stand with us to save America!

We need conservative patriots just as courageous as our founding fathers who would sign a rededicated Declaration of Independence and a reaffirmed Bill of Rights.

Some courageous conserves who would sign are:

Sarah Palin: Alaska.

Senate: Jim Inhofe, Tom Coburn Oklahoma, Jim DeMint, South Carolina

House: Scott Garret, New Jersey

Jeff Miller, Florida

Michele Bachmann, Minnesota

Tom McClintock, California

Paul Ryan, Wisconsin

Pete King, New York

Mike Pence, Indiana

John Boehner, Ohio

Steve King Iowa.

All of these men and women are tough and not afraid to speak out.

Now the question is who wouldn’t sign? Far too many to name here, but we know who they are.

This must be a strict litmus test for our candidates next year. We must ask “Would this candidate sign a rededicated Declaration of Independence and defend the Bill of Rights as written?” If not we keep looking.

We know we don't like the "leaders" we have. In order to get new ones we'll have to decide as clearly as we can what we want from our candidates.

“Would you sign a rededicated Declaration of Independence?”

No, but I would fight & die for the present Declaration of Independence.

We have a signed Declaration of Independence already. The democrat and rino party hate it and have abandoned it and are replacing our representitive republic with the abhorent communist marxist socialist government that puts citizens under the bootheel of evil government and the mad politicians therein.

Signing a rededicated Declaration of Independence would be signing the original. Rededicating isn’t changeing anything, it’s just that:rededicating. And the question is who would sign it.
I think Ollie North Wayne LaPierre Ron Robinson and Ed Meese would as well.
Newt wants to be back in a leadership position. We have to ask him about this. I’m sure he would but we need to hear him on the Constitution and the health care nonsense he got in bed with Pelosi over.

There's nothing wrong with the original, period. What we NEED is for people to stand up & fight for what's right. For conservative priciples.

Actions speak louder than words...signed or otherwise.

We elected a republican congress in 1994. As these great “patriots” soon turned into vote-buying democrats, it would appear that depending upon politicians to save either the nation or our freedom from the radical left will result only in disaster. “We the people” will have to do the job of reclaiming the US and our Constitutional rights from the Husseins of the world.

EXACTLY! The point here is since we can't vote for any Democrat and have to vote for a Republican let's ask directly. the same as asking Supreme Court nominees “Do you support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as written. This would be a device to nail people down. Getting the strict constructionists we want/need is too important to assume somebody’s position. We have to ask. How many of us thought Lindsey Graham would be the wishy washy on the Constitution that he is? We've been let down by far too many fakers and pretenders and this election is far too important to shrug our shoulders and say “Ah, he/she will be good enough.” “Good enough” is no longer good enough.
