There is a possibility of paranoia in this piece, but it certainly raises an issue worth keeping track of.

Yes, Hastings introduced a bill that basically lets Homeland security to use areas of certain military bases for essentially anything they want. Coupled with letting the AG define a domestic terrorist as anything he wants, then there are things to watch.

It is part of a pattern of “open” legislation that Congress is passing lately: TARP, Cap and Trade and now this all contain wide open provisions that give the government as much power as they want.

Under the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918, Wilson's administration shut down newspapers and magazines at an astounding pace.
