Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent “story” (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).
Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to “quit making things up.” We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.

The release is in response to a ludicrous rumor being spread by Alaskan CNN stringer Dennis Zaki. Zaki, who previously bought into rumors of Trig Truth, picked up these allegations from the same source - the rabidly anti-Palin, Trig Truth-espousing anonymous blogger "Gryphen" of the blog "Immoral Minority". Gryphen is a friend of Zaki's, along with fellow Team Truth members Shannyn Moore, Phil Munger, and "AKMuckraker" of the Mudflats.
The rumor was already being picked up and spread around the echo chamber of the Alaskan Team Truther blogs...not only by Zaki, but by fellow Trig Truther "Doctor Phil" Munger of Progressive Alaska.
Sounds like the Palins are cutting these rumors off at the knees. Good for them.

To be fair, some of you guys were pretty dismissive about the Bristol Palin pregnancy rumors too.
But the Palins came out and admitted that right away, lending to their credibility, and so I’m strongly inclined to believe them here.
It’s time for Sarah to start suing these bastards. That is the ONLY way this will stop. Now the same “blogger” who started this is now saying “We are waiting for confirmation” looks like he is running scared because he is afraid that they are gonna sue. He better be scared. They are trying to destroy this woman’s marriage so that she won’t be a viable candidate in 2012. These bastards have NO soul. They talk about how peace and love yet they are trying to destroy a wonderful couple’s marriage, DISGUSTING

Palin should get a rather large advance for her book. May as well spend some of that money tying up this Zaki clown in the courts for libel and defamation of character. They probably wouldn’t win, but at least they would make an example of this guy and hopefully bankrupt him financially (which would twice bankrupt him, since he’s already morally bankrupt).

I don’t understand this notion that if she sues she cannot win. Does that mean that anyone can post a lie about someone, all for the purpose of hurting them and nothing can be done about it. Carol Burnett sued the National Enquirer and won, that was all based on rumor yet she sued, if she can sue, Sarah can sue

I don’t see how that is responsive to my post.
Sarah has a platform and an audience that she can make her statements stick.
She needs to get out in front of this and show exactly who is spreading these stories.
Otherwise, she will always be seen as a victim and never a leader in charge of the situation and capable of controlling absent minded stories.

Maybe CNN will die soon. Cutting the budget by hiring mice like Zaki only leads to even worse “journalism”, and that leads to reduced credibility and, ultimately, lower ratings.... at which point they have to cut the budget again and hire more Zaki-types on the cheap. Rinse and repeat. It’s a downward spiral.
