According to her, the problem with the Republican party is that it has too many conservatives. Well, thats not new, we knew she felt that way since she labored to diminish Sarah Palin in every column since her nomination (including her most recent column, dated Aug 5 2009).
Not satisfied with attacking a single conservative person, she deftly uses a comment by Ohio Sen. George Voinovich to launch her attack on the entire southern Republican establishment. She paraphrases Voinovichs comment to better fit her argument as, Those ignorant, right-wing, Bible-thumping rednecks are ruining the party. Then she proceeds to agree with herself. Alas, Voinovich was not entirely wrong.

Fine. If the GOP has no use for me, then I have no use for it. Will enough centrists become Republicans to offset the loss of conservatives?

I think we can now safely put Kathleen Parker in the screwball category. Here’s a “conservative” scribbler who makes a broad, despicable statement basically saying that all southern Republicans are knee-jerk racists. Hey Parker, just be honest...you’re a liberal. Quit calling yourself a conservative...because you’re not.
