I used to go to LFG a lot a few years ago. Seemed like they gave some pretty good conservative news there.
I started going back a few months ago and it seems like a diffrent site now. Have they changed writters? Had a change of political philosophy? Did I miss something?
Seems like almost every story over there now bashes anything conservative. Making fun of people who believe in god, trashing teabag protest, trashing health care protest, etc.
I would really like to know. Perhaps the Kos kidz put something in the cool-aid.
As of now I am not going to visit anymore.
It’s still the same writer - Charles Johnson.
The management of LGF seems to dislike howling mobs. Until recently, howling mobs were mostly a phenomenon of the left, so they attacked the left. Now, it’s more a phenomenon of the right.
They were always RINOs/Neocons/whatever. IE big gov is okay, as long as you’re blowing something up. Too much dual loyalty for my tastes.
Ok, I can kind of understand that. But it doesnt explain the open hostility to Christians. Also seems like they are saying, Sit down and shut up and accept the Health Care reforms. Seems I heard that somewhere else recently.
It’s just another blog in a sea of blogs. I used to hang out there a bit. Nothing much to see anymore, just bones, dust and dead flies in the window sill. Sad actually.
There was a thread about LGF a few days ago. I believe it was posted by Charles Johnson. Do a keyword search on ‘Charles Johnson’ and you might find it. He wasn’t well taken, and it might give you the answers you want.
Yeah, that’s it. Has nothing to do with the fact LGF’s has been supporting Liberal policies or liberal politicians the last few years in increasing fashion. It must instead be the fault of Americans lawfully petitioning their representatives. Something apparently a majority of Americans have no issue with despite the smears.
LGF’s was never a conservative site. More libertarian. But even that is being thrown out the window. Makes me long for the days when they were Rudy boosters, but even he might be too “right” for them these days.
Once read it regularly, but LGF has gone through something akin to a “Andrew Sullivan”-ization: increasingly wacky, strident, even hateful. I haven’t been there in years, since he started going off on “I hate anyone who’ll even LISTEN about Intelligent Design” jags every third post.
So it has to do with who is out of power?
Thanks, Cant find that post but from what I am reading here my assumptions are correct.
Well will have to look for a replacment blog.
It's not Christians. It's creationists. I agree with his position. I'm an "evolutionist" too. But I do think he goes overboard on this.
See here is where I have a problem. Anyone who believes in god is a creationist. You cant have it any other way.
If you believe in God, you must believe that God had something to do with creation. Even if it was just getting the little chemicals to react with each other.
Christian=Creationist.
Anti-Creationsist= Athiest.
Yep!
Hmm, now that I think about it perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps God didnt start evolution but evolution created a god.
It makes sense. Some creature so evolved as to gain powers over the very universe itself. The obvious outcome of the entire process.
I believe that God created evolution. Seriously.
Would you not then be a Creationsist?
Started neocon, still neocon. Wants big-government, as long as it is GOP, as long as the GOP is dropping bombs on all the correct targets and donating weapons systems to the right international welfare recipient. Thinks conservatives betrayed the “Bush Patriots” (wave those tiny flags!) for dropping the WOT as the prime issue. America itself is a secondary issue for LGF.
LGF has changed dramatically and I’ve deleted them from my bookmarks because they’re not a site I want to visit any more.
I’d encourage all FReepers to avoid clicking any links to the LGF site.
One can believe whatever one wants. That's the free will given to us by God.
