A friend of 42 years his taken a different ideological path that I. Both of us being political wonks, we quite often exchange e-mails about the daily developments in the, all to real, metaphorical chess game between our founding fathers liberty and Social Fascism.
Probing into the mind of a socialist who has returned time and again to the Kool-Aid fountain can turn up some interesting tidbits. Today I received this.
Diary Entry of A Conservative...
This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by socialist electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US Department of Energy. I then took a shower in the socialist clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the socialist radio to one of the FCC regulated channels to hear what the socialist National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like using socialist satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast of socialist US Department of Agriculture inspected food and taking the socialist drugs which have been determined as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.
At the appropriate time as kept accurate by the socialist National Institute of Standards and Technology and the US Naval Observatory, I get into my socialist National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved automobile and set out to work on the socialist roads build by the socialist local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the socialist Environmental Protection Agency, using socialist legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank. On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the socialist US Postal Service and drop the kids off at the socialist public school. If I get lost, I can use my socialist GPS navigation technology developed by the United States Department of Defense and made available to the public in 1996 by President Bill Clinton who issued a policy directive declaring socialist GPS to be a dual-use military/civilian system to be managed as a national socialist asset. After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the socialist workplace regulations imposed by the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the socialist USDA, I drive my socialist NHTSA car back home on the socialist DOT roads, to my house which has not burned down in my absence because of the socialist state and local building codes and socialist fire marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all it's valuables thanks to the socialist local police department.
I then get on my computer and use the socialist internet which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration and browse the socialist World Wide Web using my graphical web browser, both made possible by Al Gore's socialist High Performance Computing and Communication Act of 1991. I then post on freerepublic.com and fox news forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can't do anything right.
It is just plain impossible to argue with that level of stupidity
I have friends and relatives over. They've helped me with the garden, cooked meals, we've painted. I've done the same at their homes
That doesn't mean they should live in my house or me in theirs. That doesn't mean every aspect of our lives should include each other.

I bought my GPS from a Private Company, who made a profit from the sale and employees workers. My GPS may have been invented within the government however the government does not keep track of where I'm at....YET...that's Capitalism and Freedom.
This person shares a deep ignorance about socialism with millions of other people, many of whom owe their condition to the public school system.
I have a family member who thinks socialism is “sharing.”

Yup. That pretty much sums up the best response to said email.
All this screed proves is that socialism is great at leeching off of a free market for a long time. But the host is just about out of blood, then we’ll see just how great socialism is when it has to stand on it’s own. A certain quotation from Margaret Thatcher comes to mind...

The same energy for which we pay more than needed because the same socialist US government insists on having said company invest in unreliable and inadequate power sources like wind and solar power, instead of proven technologies such as coal and nuclear power.
Jeez. My best buddy is the same way. It drives me crazy. Sharing. That is exactly what he says. He wnt from a painting company with 18 ee’s to now doing odd jobs. He still can not see it. Amazing.
Of course liberals are forever citing Jesus and making the claim that profit is not pleasing to God. Not so. Jesus told the story of a rich man who was going away for a while and gave gold to three men for safe keeping. One of them invested it and made a super return. Another invested it and got an acceptable return. The third man buried his, telling the rich man that he was afraid of losing it. The rich man, according to Christ, was not happy with the man who buried the money and took his portion away from him and gave it to the man who had made the most profit! Not the sort of story you would expect a liberal or socialist to tell too often.
All powers not officially allocated to the Federal government are granted to the States. Anything else is illegal. End of arguement, as far as the Founders could see it, and it works for me.

Sergi woke up in the People’s Bachelors Barracks, looked at his imported exploited clock, knowing that the electricity came from the People’s Power Generation Unit No 12 ( when it worked ). He didn’t shower today, as this was one of the ordered energy conservation goal days, so he dressed in his plastic work boots and work cloths and descended the concrete steps to the Peoples Cafeteria where socialist farms had provided from unexploited workers, cold beet soup for breakfast......
