No. I used to sit on the porch and the raccoons would come up and eat of my hands. Two years ago I had four foxes I would throw cheeseburgers and hot dogs to. I live in the city but there are all kinds of critters.

In the book Rabbit Hill the animals are afraid of the man, but at the end they discover he has a statue of the Good Saint (whom they know about) in the vegetable garden and it has engraved on it "There is enough for all."

The man and his wife had planted a special garden for the animals.

I fed birds and raccoons until I got my new dog, who unfortunately hates birds. I don't want to lure them here only to have her go after them.
