FINALLY!! GOP Calls For a Special Prosecutor to Investigate ACORN
The Hill/The Lid ^ | 10/5/09 | The Lid

The latest count shows ACORN under investigation in 20 states, its employees were charged with more than 50 counts of “election-related fraud,” and that ACORN has spent more than $1 million on restitution to avoid criminal prosecutions (although the Louisiana AG says that number is closer to $5 million). The is more than enough evidence to show that ACORN is corrupt throughout its vast organization and in so many ways.

For weeks these pages have been calling for a special prosecutor. We cannot rely on the the politically appointed Democratic Party-led justice department to run an investigation, especially when you consider the President's long history with the group and that senior elements within the Democratic Party such as Jerrold Nadler, Chuck Schumer and Barny Frank have been big supporters of the group.

Today House Judiciary Committee ranking member Lamar Smith (R-Texas) sent a letter to Eric Holder, requesting that he appoint an Independent Prosecutor to investigate ACORN:

Holder doesn’t need to investigate. ACORN is conducting their own thorough, independent investigation.

I wish someone would investigate GROUNDSPRING (note the reference to water as in TIDES and Tsunami). It is an organization that collected online donations for different charities. Is it possibly a moneylaudering operation??? It merged with Network for Good. It still collects funds for different radical organizations and TIDES CEO Drummond Pikes sits on the board. Here are some of the organizations that it collects donations from....

Special Prosecutors should be prohibited by law. Nothing good ever comes from them and the potential for evil is almost limitless. Public prosecutors who refuse to bring cases where the evidence for wrongdoing is self-evident should themselves be tried, convicted, and incarcerated with those they have put behind bars.

I thought ACORN had already hand picked who was going to head a panel to look into the ‘allegations’ against it.

That could catch on - criminals everywhere will be demanding their families investigate them.

There should have been a satire indicator after that article was posted. After all, asking Holder to initiate an investigation of ACORN? Laughable! Just as serial as asking Holder to investigate the Black Panthers and their intimidation tactics in Philly.

Where was the GOP when they had the power to investigate? Where was Bush?

This Acorn thing just didn’t pop up overnight.

No it didn’t and many of us were complaining clear back in 2000 that something needed to be done... then 2004 rolls around and nothing and 2008 and nothing and in the meantime ACORN, SEIU, etc., all grew bolder and bolder in their fraud. Now ACORN is closing the NOLA headquarters and moving to DC.. not a shock as this frees them to run amok in perpetuity.

I’m posting your response again. Maybe you should do a separate thread, asking the question if Groundspring has Tides & Acorn connections?

Thanks to Bronxville for responding to my post on another thread. He posted the following link...

Groundspring is funded by TIDES - good article here:
http://97.74.65.51/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=18201

According to this 2001 annual report from Tides, they have been dealing with an enormous amount of money for a very long time. They claim to have given out over $235 MILLION in the 10 years preceding 2001...

http://www.tidesfoundation.org/fileadmin/tf_pdfs/TidesFoundation_AnnualReport_2001-2002.pdf I can't even fathom how much money goes through their organization in 2009. I haven't taken the time to learn to post threads but if you know how and want to do it and use that info, I've got lots more.
