Consulting services:

Axelrod will receive $3 million 2009-13 from the sale of his two media consulting firms, according to the first reporting of income and assets when he entered government service, in a 2009 report. In addition, Axelrod took a salary of $896,776 last year from AKP&D and reported $651,914 in partnership income from the two companies.

In total, Axelrod reported assets valued between $6.9 million and $9.5 million. His clients were mostly political campaigns, including those of Rep. Patrick Kennedy, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. He also reported receiving money from large corporations including the nuclear energy company Exelon Corp.[27]

David Axelrod's political consulting services were operated through his firm AKP&D Message & Media. He also operated a second business from the same office, ASK Public Strategies, which creates strategy and advertising campaigns for corporate clients.[28] The partners include Eric Sedler (the "S" in ASK), 39, a former public relations director at AT&T and corporate-reputation specialist at PR giant Edelman and the company's managing partner, and John Kupper (the "K" in ASK), 51, a former congressional press secretary and ad-industry consultant.[28]

ASK's operations, client roster, and revenue remain confidential,[28] but customers and public records confirm the agency has run campaigns for the Chicago Children's Museum, ComEd, Cablevision, and AT&T.[28] The firm has helped set up front organizations that were listed as sponsors of public-issue ads, a practice referred to as "astroturfing."[28]

In 2004 Cablevision hired ASK to set up a group called New York Association for Better Choices to help block a new stadium for the New York Jets in Manhattan.[28] ASK's $1.1 million fee was listed as the "largest lobbying contract" of the year in the annual report of the state's lobbying commission.[29]

In 2006, Commonwealth Edison hired ASK to create a group known as CORE (Consumers Organized for Reliable Electricity), which described itself on its Web site as "a coalition of individuals, businesses and organizations," supporting a rate hike. After a complaint was filed with state regulators, ComEd acknowledged that it had bankrolled the entire $15 million effort.[28]

In 2007, the University of Chicago Hospital hired ASK to assist in marketing a plan for steering patients who don't have health insurance to other health care facilities, a plan with which now-First Lady Michelle Obama was associated, working for the hospital. Critics argue that the plan dumps costly patients simply to increase the hospital's bottom line.[30][31]

In 2008, when appointed presidential adviser, Axelrod divested of his equity interest in ASK.

So what (Rush is an entertainer).. that doesn’t make him any less qualified to judge the failings of this administration, possible the most corrupt ever to take charge of this country... God Bless Rush Limbaugh (and Glenn Beck, too)... for speaking truth to dangerous power.

An Entertainer? I thought that they had him as the “Head of the GOP?” Gee David, are you losing your message? Maybe you just need to fall back on the tried and true - “It is all Bush’s fault!”

Rush is an entertainer. Unfortunately, he’s better-informed and more intelligent than a lot of our politicians.

An entertainer? I think Rush will take that as a compliment. Rush never claimed to be a kingmaker.

“David Axelrod Responds To Rush Limbaugh's Interview On FNS, Calls Him And “Entertainer””

Says the man from an administration headed by a guy who doesn't go anywhere without a teleprompter and who plants people and questions in the audience of his question-answer sessions.

No room for "entertainers" in politics. Pro skateboarders? Yes we can!

I love how one day they say Rush runs the republican party and he an evil and dangerous. Then the next day they trot out the Rush is just an entertainer line. Its rather amusing. On one hand Rush is just an entertainer but then in their next breath they trot out Hollywood and Broadway entertainers to pontificate on political issues and we are of course in the great name of tolerance we’re supposed to pay heed and intently listen to what they have to say.

Wow, for an entertainer, the WH has certainly spent a lot of time going after Rush, haven’t they? When was the last time any WH spent much of their first months in the office going after an entertainer?

Afterr listening to Chris Wallace ask Limbaugh about his $400 million contract, I wonder how long it will be before Obama's "pay czar" tries to limit Limbaugh's income, too.

Ditto!

Rush is a great entertainer and so is Glenn.

Just so happens that their form of entertainment is spreading the truth.

Furthermore, particularly with Beck, it is the use of humor to reveal the truth about the democrats that is impossible to defend against and is, in the end, lethal.

ASK also produced the 48,000,000 losing Olympic bid. You know if investigated that Stimulis funds paid for some of that bid as a gift to Chicago.

the Titanic was sinking and the band played on!
