Here is video of the "Fox News Sunday" panel discussing the Ft. Hood shooting and whether Islam had anything to do with it.

Brit Hume said "this is an act of terrorism" and "this guy for all outward signs is an Islamist therefore you get pretty quickly Islamist terrorism."

Kirsten Powers said "It would be wrong to say because the person is Muslim that that necessarily leads to this." Powers went on to say "I feel like a lot of people are trying to tie this to, like, being Muslim leads to this." (Video)

Powers went on to say "I feel like a lot of people are trying to tie this to, like, being Muslim leads to this."

We have the bloody proof of dead people from this particular incident as well as all the associated bombings/ beheadings/ stonings/ honor killings that proves that it does. Where is your proof that does not Ms. Powers? A here say statement from CAIR perhaps?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If it is an Act of Terrorism, the Feds would have to cough up money....like they did after 9-11 for the victims.

As soon as he yelled Alahu akbar he brought his religion in to it.

I wish Britt and Bill had jumped a bit harder on Kirsten's and Mara's comments. They did say the right things, but the real point should have been "did political correctness prevent the military from taking pre-emptive action against this jihadist major?"

At least Kristol did question how this guy got to the rank of major with his record.

I suppose you’re being sarcastic, but when you say things like mcvey was a Christian, it takes on a life of its own, and becomes very difficult to kill. According to Wikipedia:

Throughout his childhood, he and his father were Roman Catholics and often attended daily Mass. In a recorded interview with Time magazine[14] McVeigh professed his belief in “a God”, although he said he had “sort of lost touch with” Catholicism and “I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs.” The Guardian reported that McVeigh wrote a letter to them claiming to be an agnostic.[15] McVeigh at one time said that he believed the universe was guided by natural law, energized by some universal higher power that showed each person right from wrong if they paid attention to what was going on inside them. He had also said, “Science is my religion.”

Hardly a Christian.

I am so sick and tired of “PC America’ The hell with Powers and every journalist who play the PC view on reporting. This has all resulted from the “Your Profiling Me” campaign done by black criminals. PC and overly played diversity in our country are going tear this country apart.

I hope all those that routinely post on FR saying what a "smart liberal" Ms Powers is will remember this.

The terms "smart" and "liberal" are mutually exclusive.

A very careful hand-wringing panel discussion. Fox seems to be in that familiar Jihad Denial mode. Chris and Bret dropped the ball on this one, attempting too hard to NOT appear intolerant to Muslims.

Folks: we’re screwed if this the best journalism that America can deliver.
Here’s an idea... create a current events network that is unabashedly conservative and not “fair and balanced”. See if it can find a market. I imagine it would be wildly popular in these scaredy-cat PC times.

Occasionally, I (donning Hazmat wear) go over to the DUmp to see what the kiddies there ‘think’ of things.

Dozens if not hundreds of posts were pulled on the several Hasan threads. But one particularly sympathetic 1000+ poster started a thread on the meaning of Allahu Akbar. He defensively posted that it would be like saying ‘forgive for what I am about to do’ or ‘help me.’ That is was NOT a statement of jihad...surprisingly, in the posts that weren’t pulled (and how graphic does your post have to be there to be zotted when almost every post already contains the f-bomb—they are so witty) only about two agreed with him. The rest piled on pretty heavily that this WAS in fact a jihad; that this was terrorism; and that PC protected Hasan to allow to do this act.

Pretty telling when even some of the most rabid on the left start to ‘get it.’

The shame is that even on Fox News the panel will only dance close to the line, but won’t actually say what is so clearly the truth. Islam is predominantly a violent, intolerant faith. Peaceful and tolerant Muslims do exist but are a minority.

The real problem the 0bama administration has is that if they admit Hassan is an Islamist terrorist, they would have to take the following actions:

1. Determine how to screen out Islamists from the military services.

2. What to do with Islamists not in the military services.

3. Admit that Hassan's attack on those who were killed and injured were killed and injured by an armed force loyal to a foreign government or a foreign entity and thus all the killed and wounded are entitled the award of the Purple Heart and all of those on Fort Hood are entitled to combat pay.
