Rasmussen - America OPPOSES Khalid Shaikh Mohammed Trial Move From Gitmo to NYC
Rasmussen/ The Lid ^ | 11/17/09 | The Lid

A Military Tribunal in Cuba. That is what Barack Obama called for in 2006 while he was in the Senate (see video above) and that is what voters said to Rasmussen in the latest poll released today.

Only 29% of American voters support President Obama's decision to transfer Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSL) and his band of thieves to NY for a civilian trial. 51% prefer that KSL remain in Gitmo to be tried in a military (19% had no opinion).

Putting aside location for a moment, only 30% of Americans said suspected terrorists should have access to U.S. courts, while 54% favored military tribunals. But if they are going to have civilian trials most American voters feel that NY is the place. 58% of voters now are at least somewhat confident that New York City will be able to take care of itself when the trials are going on (only 20% are very confident of that fact). Thirty-eight percent (38%) are not very or not at all confident that New York will be safe during this period.

This is not a trial about SKM.

Obama wants to put the CIA , Military and past administrations on trial. He wants embarrassment to America. He wants to embellish his image amongst the Islamic nations through bringing America to her knees.

This is also about the weakness of the American people to allow such crap. Allowing theirselves to be dominated by a foreign influence.

At the end of the day the trial is not about SKM, its about punching more holes in its security and intelligence gathering by foreigners so they can “get it right” next time.

It makes the pseudo-intellectuals feel like they are giving thought to an idea, when they are just waiting to see which way the herd runs. Just like Senator Obama voted 'Present' over 190 times, instead of voting "Yes" or "No".

They are so 'enlightened' that they need to see more evidence before they can make an opinion, whent the truth is that they have no idea what is even going on.

All this should be read between the lines by our brave military men and women who hunt these bastards. “Don’t bring any back alive, under any circumstances.”

It is interesting that the people already have a solid and correct opinion concerning the Khalid trials in the US, despite a near total incompetence of the press in covering the differences beteen the two rypes of trials.

See the second link, below. Even Fox News did not report on these points until this morning, briefly, And still butchered the reporting.

What the American people want is irrelevant to this president and Congress.

Actually, it is more like 79.8 percent say he should have hung the second after we felt we got all the intelligence we could out of him.

“What the American people want is irrelevant to this president and Congress.”

Who cares what the American people want. The point is to do what is right. If 90% of the public supported this, it would still be just as stupid and short-sighted.
