Often Google works better than FR search. If I’m checking to see if an article is posted I google “article title” +FreeRupublic

So why would you want to hand Google and anybody else who has access to their server logs and query logs a record of your IP address and screen name, along with all of your other Google searches?
Many of us couldn't care less if our FR handles were linked to our names, addresses, etc. but some posters may prefer not to have that happen. For those in the latter category, searching your own screen name on Google from your own computer is probably a bad idea.
Go to the library and run the search there!
