Rasmussen: Voters Not Happy With EPA "Greenhouse Gas" Regulations
Rasmussen/ The Lid ^ | 12/9/09 | The Lid

Posted on 12/09/2009 8:15:26 AM PST by Shellybenoit

Monday afternoon the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) declared carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions a danger to public health and said it will begin to draft and enforce regulations. Even the EPA realizes these moves will be a disaster for the US economy (and to our own selves as one of those gases, CO2, is what humans ad to the atmosphere every time they exhale).

Rasmussen asked American "likely voters" what they thought about the EPA announcement and reaction was split 41% to 41%. But the EPA can write and enforce their regulations without the consent of Congress. When reminded of that fact, Americans overwhelmingly (53%-24%) said the EPA should not be able to implement greenhouse gas regulations without congressional approval.

The ruling on Monday could pave the way for the agency to impose its own regulations without Congressional approval. The reason behind the EPA announcement was giving a message to congress, "you pass cap and trade, or we will screw-up the economy."

How long will it take Congress to amend the Clean Air Act once this process begins? Constituents will be howling with rage. They need further authorization from Congress to get this done.

The EPA has become an organization of jack-booted thugs, above the law.

Congress needs to just defund the EPA, abolish it. Problem solved. The EPA does not exist without the consent of Congress and they best keep that in mind. Of course, this won’t happen with our current Congress.

Voters? Who the hell cares what voters think?

If they don't like it, just invent new ones who do.

Abolish the EPA and have the FBI SWAT team remove them forcebly, toss them in a van and put them on trial like they were the White House Travel Office.

It is a scary thing to consider that the public was split 41-41 before it was explained to them the implications of this action. Truly ignorance of issues, and rapidity of action is Obamas door to Fascism.

Don't you just love these communists? What's unbelievable is almost 1/3 of Americans support it.

Constituents will be howling with rage

That's the plan. The socialists expect this.

In the beginning, the EPA plans to ONLY go after major industries, particularly energy industries and big manufacturing businesses. So these businesses will be the only ones affected by the EPA ruling.

What will happen? Right now, these businesses are AGAINST Cap-and-Trade, but as they will be the only ones bearing the burden of EPA regulations, they will soon DEMAND that other businesses take financial hits. In other words, they will switch their position and support Cap-and-Trade because it will level out the playing field, so to speak.

Then Obama and the socialists can point to the DEMAND for Cap-and-Trade across the American business spectrum.

It's totalitarian brilliance and pure evil.
