In the style of Sen. Ben "Traitor" Nelson .... can other senators start offering, one after another, amendments to ObamaCare saying, "We want free Medicaid too -- just like in Nebraska!"
No, of course I'm not in favor of that. I'm trying to think of ways to stop or slow down this abomination.
If I’m not mistaken, the cloture vote last night was the vote to halt anymore amendments.
Well, looks like it is taxation without representation. The Comuno-Nazis in Washington have shown their disdain and will not allow an election in 2010. You can bet on that.
What to do?
No more talk, as it is useless. No more demonstrations, as they have proven to be waste of time. No more web sites protesting the Congress, as they are the refuge of scoundrels.
It is time to follow the example of the Founders in Boston and at Concorde.
It is time to shed the shekels of tyranny.
I believe you meant shackle.

Senator Nelson of Nebraska cut a special deal. In exchange for agreeing to allow government funds be used for abortions, he got a special deal for Nebraska. The special deal was that Nebraska would not have to pay matching funds for Medicade. All the other 49 states must pay matching funds. Many of those state like my own state of California can not afford to pay those matching funds.
Who pays for Nebraska’s Medicare casts? All of us who live in the other 49 states. BS, I say. We should not stand by while Nebraska sucks money from all the rest of us.
BOYCOTT Nebraska! We should not give them any additional revenue after they got this sweet heart deal.

Theoretically they could. I don’t think last night’s vote ended amendments, it just set an end to the debate. So far as I know, Reid hasn’t filed his amendment yet, but he should need 60 votes to get his amendment considered.
I think any senator who could get 60 votes could offer an amendment. But I think they bought off enough senators that they wouldn’t find 60 to vote to buy more votes.
I’m not sure anymore what last night’s vote was.
THere are two more 60-member votes needed. The next is tuesday morning, I think to bring Reid’s amendment to the floor. Then I think there is another 60-member vote to end debate on the bill.
I think that anybody who could get 60 votes could bring another amendment to the floor.
And of course, senators could vote against Reid’s amendment unless he changes it to include them.
