CIMATE CHANGE: WHERE CAN I FIND THE DEFINITIVE LIST OF DISSENTING SCIENTISTS?

Posted on 12/26/2009 10:07:35 AM PST by MrChips

Hi all,

I have been trying to do a little research on the whole Climate Change thing, Climate-gate, et al. But I keep hearing there are 700 scientists, or 30,000 scientists (!) who dissent. Where is the best place for me to find such information? (Yes, I know of the list on Wikipedia, but it seems incomplete, at best).

You can't. By definiton, once someone objects their name is stricken from AlGore's Book of Green. And by definition, they are no longer a scientist but ...a DENIER!

Cheers!

Thanks for trying, but it was an article about Meryl Streep.

31,486 American scientists, including 9,029 with PhDs have signed petition to reject Kyoto and similar proposals.

The real drop dead proof AGW is a fraud is found at surfacestations.org

It turns out our weather data has a margin of error greater than the total “measured” warming. In other words, they can not scientifically claim a .7 degree warming like they do.

Wow! You lead me indirectly to the web site of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine and the 31,000 signatures. Thanks!

You might also note that there are probably hundreds of thousands of scientists who dissent but don’t bother to sign petitions to that effect.

I’m a computer scientist with both a B.S. and M.S degree in computer science. Naturally, such degrees require prerequisite basics in a number of foundation sciences like physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, etc.

Before I switched to major in computer science, I was intent on a chemical engineering degree, so have additional chemistry and engineering education not normally part of computer science.

I also worked at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (home of Trenberth and Wigley) for 25 years as a computer scientist, so quite a bit of meteorological and climate science and their methods rubbed off on me.

In addition, I’ve made continuing life-long studies in numerous sciences, including medicine, biology, genetics, and many others.

So having said all of that:

Having read many of the various AGW climate papers, both pro and con, read multiple independent analyzes of these papers, studied the Climategate emails, studied some of the computer codes therein, and followed event chronologies published some of those targeted by the emails, there simply is no question at all that the “science” of AGW from CO2 emissions is an utter fraud. It surely is!

Is there global warming right now? Hell yes! Temperatures have been increasing ever since the nadir of the mini-ice age sometime around the 1700’s.

Is global warming “bad”? Hard to tell. But Erick the Red’s progeny would have had some choice words about the matter, since they were suckered into attempting settlement of North America during the Medieval Warm Period (which was much warmer than now), only to subsequently be driven out of North America as temperatures plummeted into the mini-ice age.

Does increased atmospheric CO2 have anything to with the current warming? Unlikely. And if so, the contribution is most likely at the noise level relative to whatever other forces drive the long term temperature trends.

Did Jones, Mann, and their ilk commit scientific fraud? Indeed they did, and on an unprecedented scale for modern times.

My embarrassed response:

A million distractions...People, phone ringing off the hook....Have no idea why that posted to you. At any rate, thanks for your kind response.

This is what I thought was going through:

Try also http://www.marshall.org as a useful link. Also wattsupwiththat.com, CO2science.org, www.carbonsense.org, climateaudit.org, and www.sepp.org as some other handy references.
