Sarah Palin is pushing back against the blistering account of her campaign in "Game Change," the hotly awaited campaign book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.
Her spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, said in a statement: "The Governor's descriptions of these events are found in her book, 'Going Rogue.' Her descriptions are accurate. She was there. These reporters were not."
The statement was provided to CBS's "60 Minutes, which includes material about the former Alaska governor in a segment about Game Change. Correspondent Anderson Cooper interviewed Steve Schmidt, top strategist on the McCain-Palin campaign, who said a campaign aide preparing her for the debate with Joe Biden told us the debate was going to be a debacle of historic and epic proportions.
She was not focused ... not engaged, Schmidt told Cooper. She was not really participating in the prep. Schmidt confronted Palin and, he said, She said, You know, I think that's right.
The book reports that Senate Majority Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had referred privately to Barack Obama early in his campaign as a "light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.

No surprise the loser is busy trying to find anyone else to blame for the pathetically inept campaign he ran for McCain.
And yet, somehow , she managed to whip O’Bidens wrinkled old ass.
BTW, didn’t Biden once introduce Obama as Barack America?
The fact that Reid apologized so quick. Sounds like guilt to me. The Democrats: Original Racists...
Anderson Cooper's boyfriend. I'm serious.
whether or not she used that phrase about something, one can tell immediately Schmidt is blowing smoke out his tailpipe..... NO ONE at that level says something like that the way Schmidt is implying it..... if those words were even used it was probably in response to a comment like "you don't seem to think our debate prep is important" .... and someone might say "you know, I think that's right" translation: you, Steve Schmidt, are a RINO porker and I don't intend to play this thing as a RINO porker!!
Not saying *I* know how it went down, but from all that we know of Sarah Palin and Steve Schmidt, I'm sure that either he's making it up in whole cloth or else grossly distorting what occured.
I'm sure it must have been an ordeal for Sarah Palin to put up with some of those weasely McCain campaign aides like Schmidt and Nicole Wallace.....
So now, who do I believe? She seemed quite knowledgeable and engaged to me.
Ted Kennedy call Obama .. Osama
It was waaaaaaay too funny.
For Palin to be not focused or engaged, she certainly did very well in the debate. So at 10% effort Palin out shine Biden. Imagine what Palin would be like if she put 100% effort into it, Steve
Schmidt went on to say that she did well in the actual debate, so the point is moot. No reflection on Palin, but for the record ALL the polling at the time said she LOST the debate to Biden.
Every campaign Schmidt has ever been on has been a complete disaster. He really is a Dem. He would be welcomed with open arms over there. It’s ironic how Schmidt is more focused on smearing Sarah Palin then smearing Obama, perhaps if the campaign had been more focused on the OTHER side, McCain might have won
That's a to-be-expected polling result and most likely caused by virtually all of the MSM reporting that she lost the debate.
Liberals always ignore the evidence if it’s inconvenient.
When Dan Rather’s Bush documents were proven to be phony, he still insisted that although the documents may be phony, the conclusion is still correct.
When Sarah Palin cleaned Joe Biden’s clock in the debate so badly that even the Democrats thought it was about a tie, it doesn’t matter because their preconceived notion that she is a stupid woman is obviously correct.
The only debacle of monumental proportions in the campaign was the failure of McCain, his staff, and the press to tell the public just who Obama was.
MSM spin.
All reporting and analysis from the MSM on Sarah will inevitably be spun against her. Fact of life.
Get used to it.
Hmm, “Palin Attacks Book ...”. More like setting the record straight.
“The Governor’s descriptions of these events are found in her book, ‘Going Rogue.’ Her descriptions are accurate. She was there. These reporters were not.”
Verifiable facts is something reporters don’t seem to worry about, like someone stating the US had 57 states, a verifiable fact.
To me, the MSM seem to be settling in on a few attack memes between polls on Palin at the moment. Unfortunately for them, all are either not verfiable (and they don’t have any credibility, especially regarding Palin), or minor and many years ago (often non verfiable too):
Family, including Levi
She is stupid
She is extreme
She is racist
Polarising and unqualified articles surface immediately after every poll for a few days.
Feel free to add to the list :).
“Schmidt went on to say that she did well in the actual debate, so the point is moot. No reflection on Palin, but for the record ALL the polling at the time said she LOST the debate to Biden.”
What do you think?
That was part of it. Another part was that Biden said blatantly false things, but sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
ping
This is just gossip, innuendo, and fiction, but hey, what else is there for these so called journalists to write about? Sarah was widely regarded as having done well at the debate.
