Tennessee Paper Says Harold Ford Jr. Not Telling the Truth About NY Residency
The Lid/ Memphis Commercial-Appeal ^ | 1/13/10 | The Lid

If it was up to Harold Ford Jr. NY State would be changing its name from the Empire State to the carpet-bagger State. The former Tennessee Congressman is threatening to mount a primary challenge against NY Senator Kristen Kirsten Gillibrand who was named to fill the seat of another carpet-bagger, Hillary Clinton.

Ford, who lost his bid to be Senator from Tennessee in 2006 claims he has been a resident of New York State for the past three years is still registered to vote in Tennessee and voted in Memphis in the 2008 Election when he was supposedly a NY Resident. Ford still lists a condo on South Front Street in Memphis as his home.

The Memphis Commercial-Appeal investigated Ford's residency and discovered that Ford may not have been totally honest about his residency

What is it with these political elitists? They are so full of themselves that they MUST be a Senator, Congressman, or whatever.

I imagine the beginning of this guy's resume reads:

Experienced Congressman seeking Senatorial opportunity with growth potential, willing to relocate.

I can't believe he is this stupid. He voted in the 2008 election and yet claims NY is his home for the past three years?

Moron.

New York is fast becoming a JOKE!!!

Harold Ford is a light skinned guy who doesn't talk with a Negro accent....UNLESS he WANTS TO!! So I guess he'll get 75% of the vote!!

Exactly. Furthermore, Democrats don't give a damn about states. Representing NY, AL, TN, KY, RI, ... doesn't matter. It's all about federal power. Such a far cry from the olden days where congressional representatives cared about the rights and positions of their states.

I never could figure out how a sad sack like Ford ever got elected. He's dry, boring, humorless, and devoid of any discernible personality...like Obama I suppose.

Hey Shimmer!

They'll call him a carpetbagger, but ultimately residency hasn't turned out to be a big issue. It didn't for Hillary Clinton.

The question is, did he get a sweetheart deal on a NY residence like Hillary did?
