I remember feeling back in November 2008 like the earth had suddenly skidded to a harrowing halt and started spinning precariously in reverse, throwing everything safe and real and decent into oblivion, as if to erase the entire American Century and plunge the nation into the dark ages.
I felt that sudden grinding halt again today, but the results were as blissful as an ocean breeze: Almost a year to the day of the inauguration of pResident Barack Obama, Republican Scott Brown shocked the entire country, delivering Ted Kennedys Senate seat to its rightful owner the people of Massachusetts.

Don’t Blame Me I’m From Massachusetts
Better be ‘keepin’ it REAL’, Brown. We TRULY mean that.....or your ‘ass is grass’! Now, go get to WORK for US!
> Republicans, Don’t Screw This Up ... Again
oh, they will
But I totally share your words about Nov. 2008, and today.
Very well expressed!
Maybe God isn’t ready to give up on us just yet......we have been given a gift, and yes, Republicans don’t screw it up.
AZ must DEFEAT Juan McAmnesty in the primary.
Brown, don’t be a RINO.
So he heaps praise on Ted Kennedy!! AGH!!! :-(
I am not a doom and gloom guy but I will be holding my breath as the next few days pass, wondering which RINO will fold.
He’s definitely right about one thing: the GOP could screw up like it did after the euphoria of the 1994 elections.
2 years later, Der Schliekmesiter won re-election, & 2 years later still, the GOP got whacked & Newt Gingrich fell from power.
Collins or Snowe. Count on it!
More important is that his win might breathe some spine back into the GOP.
“Collins or Snowe. Count on it!”
My money is on Snowe but do not count out Voinovich
McCain is running ads non stop on conservative radio here in Arizona . The ads are already attacking JD Hayworth who was a congressman and now has his own radio show. The ads even run on his show! Hayworth has not yet declared he is running. I laugh at the McCain blitz of ads. He can run them 24/7 and I'm still going to vote for the best primary opponent running against him. Something Arizona was denied 5 years ago.
Yep.
I'll never forget how I went to the polls in 1994, heavy at heart over the Clinton's depredations, and feeling like my vote was wasted- after all, hadn't "America spoken" in 1992? Didn't we really get the kind of government "we" wanted- and deserved?
Then the results started rolling in- Oh, God! The euphoria... I wasn't alone in my disgust over the direction the country was being steered in to.
All too quickly, Newt and company blew it away, snatching defeat from the jaws of the victory we, the people, had handed them.
Let's not blow it again, O Stupid Party.
You need to offer a choice- not an echo...
