Man the Left is still really upset about Bush stealing all those elections I guess. So much so that a year after a democrat won the Presidency theyre still going after voting machine companies, and specifically the company formally known as Diebold.
The whole monopoly busting thing is a great cover for the Justice Department to use though. Just when these two companies were about to go create a super voting machine that only elected Republicans they stepped in and saved the day. Democracy everywhere is saved by Eric Holders Justice Department.

Diebold, Birth Certificate, Recount, “Bush knew” ... some people never let go.
The only problem with this skreed is that there has been plenty of evidence that the voting machines haven’t complied with voting requirements of various states for supporting audits, code reviews, and reliability. There are multiple episodes of the machines recording votes incorrectly, etc.
My county (Alameda - home of Pete Stark no less) was using voting machines about 3 elections ago. They were easy to use. Yet they have ALL been trashed because of the respective company’s failure to create reliable systems.
I think I remember reading where Tennessee passed a law requiring all electronic voting machines to retain a hard copy of all votes. I would assume that the voter would be able to confirm the printout without being able to touch it unless it recorded the votes incorrectly.
You’re absolutely right there is many issues with the source code of these machines. But my point was that I don’t think the government whether the R’s or the D’s are in power should be able to decide who gets to make the machines. Very fair point though. thanks though!
