Texas still believes in American and Texan exceptionalism. While the former is taking some hits - we generally despise Washington - Texans still believe in exceptionalism.
Thanks for the perspective. Actually, my wife is making noises like she’d like to move south to TX... She is really, really unhappy with the educational system here. My Company has openings I could slide into in the Dallas area. We have some friends that just relocated to San Antonio... I think we’d fit in, Christians active in our Church, very pro 2nd Amendment, conservative, live-and-let-live people...
Well, Texans, my wife's job is moving to Houston. We are very Conservative, and very Christian. Sounds like we may be welcome in Texas. We went over to Houston on Sat. to look the area over and were pleased with western side of town, out around Katy. Can anyone give us further help on which counties have the lower property taxes and insurance in the Houston area. Seems that Houston encompases several counties. We are NOT libs. We are Catholic (coverted 5 years ago) conservatives. Wife is an outstanding graphic artist while I am a musician/songwriter doing Faith-based music & preforming, sharing testimony in any church that believes in Jesus Christ.
We have zero familial or personal ties to Upstate, SC. My family is in WV (it’s where I grew up but have zero desire to live there) & the wife grew up in Besthesda, Maryland & that’s not been home to her for over 30 years. I am 49 & my awesome wife is 51.
Old friend of mine from high school lives just north of San Antonio. Says the economy there has hardly burped despite Obama’s best efforts to the contrary. Were researching and job hunting via the net now, looking at a 2-3 year plan to get out of debt and build up a moving fund.
