Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin did not report for duty to Fort Campbell, Ky. as ordered [to on April 12, 2010] and a spokesman for the post said it's not likely he will, reported Bryant Jordan on Military.com.

Lt. Col. Lakin refused orders to deploy for a second time to Afghanistan, and refused to be dispatched to Fort Campbell ... in preparation for the overseas assignment."

It is indeed ironic that a part of the process for the Army to deploy the Lt. Colonel to Afghanistan is for the Army Officer to show is birth certificate.

If Obama were an honest man, there wouldn't be so much confusion surrounding him...

• Is he a natural born citizen or is he not?

• Is he a muslim...or just a black liberation theology-ist?

• Is he a Marxist/communist...or just a left of center Dimocrat?

• Is he trying to destroy the country intentionally...or does it just appear that way?

• Is he a homosexual (as was commonly perceived by many in Chicago) or just an effeminate heterosexual who is friendly with the gay community?

• Did he really listen to Jeremiah Wright...or was he just snoozing?

• Did he really earned the grades required for Columbia and Harvard...or was his education bought and paid for by Prince Alwaleed?

The very fact that he has cleared up NONE of these frightening concerns leads one to believe the worse.

My experience tells me that where there is this much smoke (huge roiling billows of it)...there must be a raging fire!

I think this could just be the beginning. An American willing to sacrifice his career and possibly years of his life in prison for what he believes to be true. I just did not think I would see someone willing to sacrifice like this to prove Zero’s eligibility to be president.

I was very irritated by Bill O’Reilly’s, and Megan Kelly’s, condescending attitude toward LTC Lakin, and Birthers. He can be an arogant dumba$$ at times. His logic about the two newspaper birth announcements is beyond reason. They were just covering all bases in case Obama was denied citizenship in Hawaii. I’m disappointed at Beck too. What happened to “Question with Boldness”?

Sorry, this guy should be court martialled and sentenced. He is an LTC in the Army and is refusing to obey a legal order from a superior.

The military is not a democracy. This guy signed away his right to do as he chooses when he joined the service.

There is nothing about Obama I like or support, but you enlist in the military to serve your nation, not the President.

A soldiers oath is to the constitution, not the president. The nation IS the constitution. Lakin is simply, and very bravely, upholding his oath.

Signed away his rights? Last I checked, he’s still a citizen of the U.S., and he has every right to take a stand. His loyalty is to the Constitution, and I applaud him for showing such moxie. Someone, somewhere, has to force zero to ante up. Signing away one’s rights sounds like slavery to me.
